Re: '66 912 resurrection
So engine in, all easy from here right? Nope. The Motronic loom was in a pretty shitty state but was good enough for the time being to run the motor, so it was loosely run in and by the time I was finished she looked like a test rig of some sort. An oil pressure gauge from a 924 was bought to keep i...

Re: DME conundrum
Thanks David, well bit of an update. I bought a noid led kit to test for pulse - which proved we do indeed have a pulse from the DME but very weak - barely lit the noid up. I’ve sent the DME off to a company that can bench test it to see if this weak signal is the fault of the DME itself or somethin...

DME conundrum
Evening, So the time came to try and fire up the 3.2 but unfortunately it was an anti climax, the wife put the party poppers away and everything. So the fault finding began. I’ll start at the beginning.... So she cranks, and the following does happen Fuel pump fires up We have spark And then apart f...

Sorry Ollie, I only just saw your comment. I don’t seem to receive email alerts again for some reason, good to see you at the swapmeet though.

Motronic wiring
Hi all,
Does anyone have a decent resolution copy of a 3.2 Carrera Motronic engine harness wiring diagram that I can print out please? That or even just the pin out info would be great thanks as I have a load of unused guff I'd like to thin down.
Thanks

Re: '66 912 resurrection
Getting there, started right at the front again checking everything is tight and connected so nothing gets missed as a lot of it was dry built to see if it’d even work.

Re: '66 912 resurrection
Had a bit of a play with the concept of the conversion to hydraulic clutch last night. After cutting the throttle cable thing in half thinking it was something it wasn’t I figured just as well try and utilise what was left and ditch that setup altogether in favour of a cable going the whole way. If ...

Cheers, hopefully it’ll see daylight soon.DFW_IE wrote:This car looks so awesome. I know that when I start falling and hitting myself (usually late in the day) it’s time to stop and go inside before I get seriously hurt.
Hopefully I get to see this car in person one day.

Re: '66 912 resurrection
Well the wife usually adopts a glazed expression every time I start talking about any of ‘the old rusty crap’ I play with and Sunday morning was no diffferent. “You can always sell it” is the standard reply. In hindsight I should have watched some videos first, but instead did my usual gung-ho...

Re: '66 912 resurrection
 I suppose it would Last night the wife was out, and our little girl was at her grandparents so that meant an attempt at striking off as many jobs on the list as possible. 1. Sound deadening on firewall - done 2. Fit clutch to engine - done 3. Unite engine with gearbox... Well this is where my ...
