Best aftermarket seats

Hi all I am slowly getting through getting parts and restoring my rhd 911T ‘72 and am after the best aftermarket seats. My CoA says the car came ‘Sports Seats’ which were ‘Black Leatherette with Dogtooth Check Inlays’. I’ve seen the Rennsport ones which look nice but the hinges and other details are...

100% give them for free. Looking out for And helping a fellow owner is what makes the Porsche community the incredible thing that it is. I couldn’t imagine charging someone for those. Keep us updated on the outcome :)

380mm RS look Steering Wheels

Hi all I’m hoping you might be able to help. I am after an 380mm RS look steering wheel for my 2.7, and I ordered one online and it looked really cheap (see the square photo attached) it was really bloated looking where the leather is finished off to the metal. Whereas they should be like the other ...

Re: Opinions on who to use for repaint and engine rebuild?

I would 100% go and speak to Brian at Rindt if you want superb quality delivered with straight talk from the first conversation right up to picking the car up at the end. Their panel, lead and paintwork are done with incredible craftsmanship; they are very particular. They have one car of mine in ri...

Re: Gearknob installation

I recently installed one using the official Porsche crush sleeve (3 times the price of the non OEM and probably no different). Had to use a rubber mallet in the end to get the shifter to slide inside the clamp, but once it got hold, it’s not going anywhere. I wouldn’t glue it. There are some YouTube...

Re: Three prong centre caps

I paid £20 for one on eBay recently and think there is a listing for 3 or 4 of them for £80
Plus postage. But top condition seem to fetch more I think.

Re: Insurance

I went to FJ and Flux and then went to ClassicLine after reading about them on Porsche forums, and they were cheaper and offered free international breakdown, and paid £24 for an agreed value. They were also the most professional and friendly. I pay under £200 for any car I’ve had with them, includi...

964/993 rear seats in 911T 1972

Hi all I’m hoping someone might be able to help. I need a set of rear seats for a 1972 and finding them hard to source. Would a set from a 964/993 work in a 911T 72? I saw somewhere that is called out rear seat for ‘up to 76’ implying they might be different after that year. But they look they shoul...

Outdoor Car Covers

Hi all I did search the forum but without much luck as the words ‘car’ and ‘cover’ come up in a lot of posts, which makes sense when you think about it. I am after an outdoor cover for a 912 which hopefully will soon be used for a 911T (if so can find a rhd 911T for sale). I wondered if anyone had a...

Thank you for taking a look. I am after a rhd 911T. Ideally in good sound driving order, however may take on a project. Budget would be £45-60k

Please do PM me should you be looking to sell or know of one for sale.

Thanks

Touching in interior black metalwork

Hi all I have a few small chips to various bits of metalwork in the car (eg seat runners and seat hinges). I’m not looking to do a full restoration at this point in time, so I don’t want to either replace or take out and respray the entire parts. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good touch...

Black Ignition Coil - Where to find or how to create

Hi all I am wondering if anyone can help. I keep seeing 912 engines with black look ignition coils, whereas the ones typically available to buy are bright blue or silver/blue. I know the yellow Bosch stickers are repro and believe people are potentially spray painting a standard one black and then a...

Re: Help Restoring a 1965

Yes it fires up fine from cold. The car has sat around for 2 years and only driven a few hundred miles. The fuel filter looked like it may have dissolved slightly (the filter looked like it had collapsed in the clear housing). Not sure if old fuel could be to blame given the lack of use. It is being...
