Hi Andrew I think the key diff between my and Ian M's experience is that I am faster (only joking!!). His is a 6, mine a 4, and the 914/6 CVs are larger and stronger. My early 911 CVs are slightly larger still, and only just fit through the trailing arm. The 914/4 ones aree tiny by comparison. The f...

I concur re the cost - it can be pretty horrific but it is not an obvernight conversion and at the end of it you will have a car that you will never want to sell (starts to make sense then). If you have an accountant's mind ant are concerned about burning money, the Gantspeed 4 to 6 conversion is up...

I will let you know on Tuesday if a 3.0SC / 914 is the right combination when we fire it up  There are a few other things on top of Ian's list to consider; 1. If running CIS (as I am) you need to cut off the engine lid lock and mount, plus that funny hoop on the back edge of the engine bay (nev...

All Would like them by the beginning of October ideally, ready for the winter rebuild (or continuation of last winter's rebuild unless I get my car back soon  ) For rockers, I don't really see the point in delaying the order - Barrie Martin made my GT rockers (and Ian M's) in fibreglass with a ...

Drive shaft / CV upgrade
All As you know I intend using 911 drive shafts (68-72) for my car in readiness for the SC engine. I have now determined by what I have ordered, how to make it work which may be of use to some of you. Whichever of the number of options you go down it looks as though new driveshafts are required beca...
