Re: new restomod 914

I actually think it looks pretty good in the rear 3/4 shot James has posted, agree there's something not quite right about the front lights, definately feels a little bit smart roadster from that angle. I think the interior is lovely, really nice job, subtle and not overly modern looking. As for the...

Re: Rear wheel bearings

Timo
They are not the same at all, (wish they were as they are very expensive compared to the LWB bearings). They are two separate bearings and a spacer.

Regards

Sean
Ah ok, wasn’t sure if they were or not, thanks Sean

Re: Rear wheel bearings

Not sure if swb are the same as lwb? but on lwb the bearings are pressed in so you need some sort of puller to get the old bearing out and the reverse to get the new bearing back in. I made a puller at work which popped the old one out relatively easily, getting the new one back in proved more trick...

Re: Esso Ceasing Ethanol-Free Fuel in Sep-23

Esso zero ethanol definately seems to maintain the octane level for longer, my car when stored over the winter months always used to struggle to start on E5 come spring time but since using the Esso stuff it starts up no problem even when its been left sitting for a while.

Re: 912/356 graphite exhaust gaskets

Ok so due to the fact that I had to commit to a minimum order quantity when I ordered the last batch of these I have ended up with a few extra sets.

If anybody needs a set now or in the future just drop me a message on this thread or pm me.

Cheers

Tim

Re: Stanford Hall 30 Apr 2023

Neil,

Can you confirm whether you are still planning to be on the gate handing passes out on the day?

I was hoping to grab one on arrival

Re: 912c

009 is ok on a type 1 but totally wrong on a 912, not surprised you saw an improvement there.

What were you running on the 356 before the 6v cdi swap?

Re: 912c

Neil, I’m not an expert on this but if the piston is domed how does that split the combustion chamber in two, surely it just makes the combustion chamber ring shaped? Sean made a point about the 123 using all of the electricity produced (I’m assuming he means both the low and high tension circuits e...
