I registered my car in June and didn't need a letter of conformity and they didn't ask to inspect the car. Rather than the C384 document you need the C&E receipt for duty and tax paid, which would have been sent to you from your UK shipping agent. By the way it is not an over the counter service...

Really take Nick's advice about covering the caliper well when using compressed air. I nearly lost my head one time as then do come out with a BANG

Great news Steven, I just hope that the rest of September is good so that you get a chance to drive it.

Got my MOT on Thursday and so early tomorrow morning I will be at my local DVLA office. One question, the V55/5 asks for a Type Approval number, do I need one? And if so does anyone have the Type Approval number for a 1969 911T.

Just spoke to my friendly MOT garage and a working mileometer is a requirement of the MOT. However a lot of garages only take the mile reading so if you can see the numbers you may be lucky.

For what's it's worth I would go with Robster suggestion. As the car fires up and idles you are getting the three main ingredients of the internal combustion engine, air, fuel and spark. When you put load on the engine one of these is going south. Let’s take it for granted that the air is okay and y...

I'm with AON as well, £160 with no mileage limit and I can use it to commute. I too am a little over 30  and have access to 2 other cars.

I think that the hose that comes out of the BACK of the air cleaner goes to the oil tank but on my car there is a second hole in the BOTTOM (in my case no pipe attached) that goes somewhere else so I would also be interested to know where it ends up.

Yep you have two bleed nipples at the rear and the order that you bleed the system (according to my book) is right rear outer, right rear inner, left rear outer, left rear inner, left front and then right front. Have fun!

Take James advice. Here is a nice rust free California 912 for £4400. Add shipping and taxes and you will be well below £7500. You could even add the flights and have a holiday in San Fran and just think no welding!
