Re: More scary cr@p from DVLA

Back on the DVLA, the reality is, as usual, rather mundane. I received helpful input from representatives of Motorsport UK. It seems a small number of clear and obvious errors, to use football terminology, may have occurred. There is dialogue on the issue and the classic movement's interests are bei...

Re: More scary cr@p from DVLA

I am not sure how far we get by belittling government officials. It's clear some old cars can reasonably said to be radically altered from their original spec - and subject to whatever consequences might flow from that - and others aren't. I don't think many people would see a roll cage - quite poss...

Both sold - Two early 911s for sale - 1967 RHD S and 1968 Hotrod

Both now sold Hi there, we currently have a couple of early 911s for sale - a numbers-matching 1967 RHD 911S and a freshly-completed 1968 Hotrod in the style of a TR. Please have a look at our website for details and/or get in touch. We will be very happy to talk through either or both. Many thanks,...

If the car is OLC 6E then it may be a 1967? Would be very interesting to know the chassis nonetheless

Re: New(ish) Member RHD '66 911

Fascinating stuff. The car must have been one of the very last on Solexes. The Akers car seems to have been known as an S, but was too early for that. It too would have been a Solex car, though I believe it was converted to Webers early in life. Let me know if you have, or would like, a Kardex and/o...

Re: Members Motorcycles

Hi Feroz, the short answer is no, I'm not - but it's easier to rationalise that when the costs and space involved are so much lower than with a car! The 900 GTS is a revelation - a quick and noisy Ducati with a decent riding position and an electric start at a half-sensible price. An Italian R 90S, ...

Re: 1965 912 The oldest ? early sills remade

An old thread returns! Earlier/above David Kennedy suggested 350576 may have been the first UK RHD car. Is that still the view? I have recently been told about 350574 - apparently also RHD and in the UK at some point in its life, but not clear if it was first delivered here. Anyone know any more? Ma...

Re: That Vestey car….

Hi Dai, as you say, many thanks to Mike Smith for liberating the relevant sales records from the dead hand of the Frazer Nash Archive. I imagine there is more information there if only we were able to access it. I have sought to engage with the Trustees on several occasions, but found them to be utt...

Re: Classics at the Castle

The text on the cards MMU 911C MMU 911C is the earliest RHD 911. In Bali blue with a black interior, it was built in January 1965 along with other variants of the new model and initially had by a 5-digit prototype identity. Peter Bulbeck talks of a winter trip to Stuttgart with John Aldington to del...
