I navigated ( and drove one stage ) in 2 BRX on the 1990 West Cork Rally Historic Section. Brian Powley won it outright in 1989 and 1990.theorangeperil wrote:I used to love 2BRX

I wonder what happened to the Blue Almeras 911 in the seconds after that Photo? It looks like it might have rolled before the photo was taken as well.

I’ve two relevant memories — traveling from Galway to Dublin in an IMP where we could top up the oilman water from the backseat on the move by lifting the rear panel. — My Army days on a Friday where duties including starting the Coventry Climax Fire Pump. Soldiers being soldiers this was often done...

Re: Silver Jubilee
Very happy memories of that event. We drove over from Cork and stayed nearby in Moore Place Hotel in Aspley Guise. Used walk to the Indian Restaurant Jalouri in Woburn Sands.

Re: 2.7RS engine for sale......
It’s relatively easy, and quite common to rebuild any mfi pump to suit a particular T, E, or S engine. The late Robert Sharpe used engrave his work by crossing out the 09 say and replacing it with 014 as needed to show the modifications.
RS Diesels was his company I think.

Ignition Leads for MSD
I’m fitting an MSD Ignition, Coil and Tach to my 1973 2.7 RS engined 911. instructions say not to use the Porsche standard ( copper core ) leads. Why is this, and does it really matter much ?

Do other people not just pour it down the drain, or at the base of their compost heaps ?

Re: Ally deck lid
As Andy said above they are fragile and I’m fed up curing the dents. Also, I used believe 72:S had an Ally lid but only the very very early ones prior to November 1971 had them. When I bought my Ally lid from Poland in 2013 it was the same price as a new steel one from Porsche. Ninemeister weighed b...

I’ve also got a reproduction aluminium engine lid on my 2.4 s which is for sale as I’m replacing it with a steel one.

It shouldn’t be about Brits winning or loosing, Motorsport is greater than that. The FIA should award the Championship to both of them, it’s been done before on Professional Masterchef. !
