HI Graham (top post) is the noise just at idle when hot-hot and the oil pressure is 4 bar at 4,000 rpm, if so there could be some wear in the Ally inter-gear gear that drives the timing chains, if the Ally gear has some wear on it or the inter- gear bearings have some wear, you can get a dull consta...

HI Greg

the wiring is;

+ = ignition live

31b = wire from the gearbox, usualy the green or brown/red

-- = earth, brown, you will need a earth wire AND one wire from the gear box on hear also


A = a signal take off for the Automatic Speed Control, control unit

a bit on the pricey side but try 369 02 107 4 at 0.95 and a price of £17.70 from Porsche + vat

you could try a VW part at 021 105 281 £4.47 +vat for a 0.30 X 2

and a 012 105 289 £4.47 +vat for a 0.38 X1,

poss from VW Heritage or try the VW dealer

the 3.2 will work with the SC crank, or I have piston (SC) if you would like to use them in the 3.2 cylinders (if the 3.2 cylinders are OK), if not I could have SC cylinders also

I take it you may have a 1974 black car with the engine in bits??

or I did find this clip 477 819 343 £1.39 +vat each , this was on the cross over cable
