Another Zenith question...

Does anyone have experience of removing the overrun enrichment circuit on the Zenith 40TINS? Good/bad? More overrun popping due to lean mixture? My solenoid is missing (and supposedly difficult to get hold of).... and I'm not too fussed about hydrocarbons on overrun. Adding more fuel/air to reduce e...

You'd need to fit a pressure sender to the engine rather than just a low pressure switch, but I believe the wiring is the same. With a sender you get a precise change in resistance and hence it can drive the meter, the light just runs off the low pressure switch which is on/off. I used to run just a...

I think everyone was just too scared to comment, the sight of major corrosion has a profound effect on us early 911 owners.... :)

We tend to go a bit quiet when we realise that this could be our car by the next MOT....

Good luck. Major challenge, but looking good so far.

Send Thomas an email to check delivery: Thomas.Hanna@t-online.de Mine turned up within a week, depends on his stock levels I guess. I think payment on delivery was only for local orders rather than overseas, but give it a go! I had to arrange a bank transfer which cost £25 as the recipient was overs...

My '72 911T

A few pictures of the motor at various stages of it's life in my hands: First Curborough track day. Much amusement and a near vertical early 911 handling learning curve…  https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4307/36339452725_483a89ef60.jpg …as can be seen by this little moment which I love to s...

Mark, When your engine is cold, like first thing in the morning, take out the cold start injector and aim it into a jar. With the ignition disconnected turn over the engine and it should squirt fuel whilst you are cranking. If this is OK then you need to start the usual search for air leaks. Round g...

Changing crank rear oil seal

This is a job I need to tackle this winter, or rather just a good excuse to pull the lump out and to repair / paint the engine bay... Has anyone here completed this (outside of a complete rebuild) and do you have any hints / tips? Does the flywheel normally come off easily after 30+years? Tips for g...

According to Pelican parts the rear dampers are the same 65 to 71 The rear dampers changed at '72 to a slightly longer stroke and larger diameter. At the same time the damper mount on the trailing arm moved back 10mm to stop them hitting the driveshaft. Front dampers changed September 68. Have a loo...

I have one of these loose wires as well.... Everything electrical works (oil temp, pressure etc) and there is nothing within reach (or even out of reach) for it to fit to. Wiring diagrams also offer no help on the colours or possible use. I just stopped worrying about it eventually! Maybe is somethi...

Bit of a disaster for me this one.... Left the house at 10:30...by 10:40 I was coasting to a halt with a broken throttle linkage. 11:40 back at the house thanks to the RAC. 4 hours spent removing the linkage and bodging the sheared rubber bobbin back together. Arrived at Gawsworth at 4:00pm and foun...

Definitely need a DDK gathering next year. There was nearly a PCGB one but with the 'cheap tat shocker' story running at present I couldn't bring myself to join in!!!

Some more photos that will appeal to the average DDK'er
