Re: O/T Any opinions on MK5 Golf GT TDi 140 bhp?

What does genuinely amaze me is that sales figures for the Three Series have always been incredible, they have virtually no real competition , and yet no-one has piled into the market. I guess the clinic people will say that 90% of the public wouldn't feel the difference anyway. I suspect that if V...

Re: O/T Any opinions on MK5 Golf GT TDi 140 bhp?

Are you a fan of BMW's then Alam ? ... LOL.. Yes I remember you extolling your dislike for BMW's in general when we met in Richmond to borrow a wheel off of you for the Mallory Park event Gav and I went to. Your don't like Beemers... apart form the orginal M3 and E30's. I remember it well bec...

Re: O/T Any opinions on MK5 Golf GT TDi 140 bhp?

There are no real alternatives to BMW's Barry. ;) If you like manual boxes at least... 6 cylinder, rwd saloon, coupe or touring. Not one does it quite like BMW. Unless you want a coupe sports car and then you should look away from Munich toward the doors of Stuttgart... but you know that. Now all of...

Re: O/T Any opinions on MK5 Golf GT TDi 140 bhp?

Yup stick with the BMW. Mk4 vs Mk5... yeah I see your point, but I have found the older BMW's to be so much more versitile. You'll get the VW tied in knots when you H&T or LFB when your dancing on the pedals. The ECU hates it and starts cutting power and stumbling everywere on the diesels. Also ...

Re: O/T Any opinions on MK5 Golf GT TDi 140 bhp?

I think you would be bonkers to go from a E46 to a Golf Mk4. I have had one and I have owned a series of BMW 3 series cars. I would listen to Bert or If I were you, I would as you say resolve the current cars woes as you plan. Otherwise sell the current touring and get another newer better car in th...

Re: Will we be going to Le Mans twice in 2014?

I will be bringing my son to Le Mans with me for the first time. I am really excited to be sharing his first year of active motorsport with him.

I am seriously thinking about doing the double, however I'll be be only bringing him to one of those events. He'll have to come to Spa that year also!

Hey guys thanks for the offers. I really appreciate it. If you chaps have anything you want to sell then please also let me know. Thanks again. Edit: Spoke to the Chassis builder and he'll be needing these parts in the new year. First port of call will be Gant speed and then I'll have a chat with Al...
