Re: Electric fuel pump
Thanks, Roy, Yes, I will rebuild the pump - Gulp! I may need some help along the way. one thing I have learnt is to do disassembly of these parts with springs and clips in a plastic bag. Sops them pinging around the kitchen and loosing a vital part. Wish me luck, probably start next week or the week...

Re: Electric fuel pump
Thank you.
It was the preloading I was worried about. I have a rebuild kit. Just don’t want to get so far and get stuck!
Due to lockdown. Might be the perfect time to give it a go. If all else fails. I can go electric!!

Electric fuel pump
Looks like my fuel pump has had it. Should I replace with an electric one? Is it worth the hassle? Rebuilding my pump is unknown territory for me. Fiddly and not too sure what I’m doing. Electric means getting electric to the pump ( I’m 12 volts already) and sealing off the old one. So still work to...

I’m sure I have one for my early 912 ‘66 swb. Not too sure if it will fit though? Will have to look.

Re: Just curious
Love this thread, missed it the first time around. I must have bought some parts off the usual suspects for my car as it's also an early T6 Reminds me of looking at a 911S where the drivers' door must have been hanging off as the vendor wouldn't open it for the test drive as he said the hinges were ...

Re: Leitz Luggage Rack doesn’t fit
I have a twin grill B and my rack fits without any wriggling.
If your grill has been apart. Was it put together correctly? The finals are all different shapes.
I can take a picture if you want?

Re: early style fuel pump domed cover
I'm not too sure if I need to rebuild my pump yet. But have taken to top off to look inside. This is only the second time I have done this in 25 years!! So here's hoping I don't have to go through what you have done (or could I send it to you for a refurb if I do?). I think I've got a blockage somew...

Re: What steering wheel boss fits a 356 T6?
The above assumes it is one of the 'large centre' 6-bolt wheels (as opposed to the 'small centre' 5-bolt version) ...
Small? 5 bolt type. Will post pictures when I find out how?? not posted a picture since photobucket changed it's charging system.

Drat, I thought so. How many scrap wheels can there be out there? and that's going to be expensive anyway.
Looks like I have some wall art then!

What steering wheel boss fits a 356 T6?
I was gifted a Les Leston Steering wheel and I fancy trying it on the 356. I was wondering what boss to look out for?
Would it be a VW one? what other cars fit 356s. My A35 race car has a TR6 boss and most of the triumph family fit.
if I look for a 356 one it's going to double in price!
Thanks

Re: Fuel pump rebuild tips
If yours is really full transfer petrol to your daily car. Dirty diesel I'm afraid. Last time I replaced the petcock was 25 yrs ago so probably hasn't done too bad. But they must have taken it off to do the tank. I will check and feedback. Just got to pop out and get some mouthwash for the syphonin...
