Re: New body panels currently from Porsche
Can anyone confirm if targa rear quarters can be used on a coupe if its roof gutters are in good condition? I'm not sure it'd work: as well as the area directly under the Targa hoop, and the rear where it joins into the screen rail (tonneau?) there's every chance the rest of the join under the rear...

Re: Cellette with 911 pins.
If the car is sitting at a different height to the original Celette system it's worth bearing in mind it then won't be possible to use the Celette sill clamps. This is invaluable for pulling work as really beds the middle of the car down and takes a lot of the load off the brackets. One of the refer...

Re: New body panels currently from Porsche
They're all pretty good. Given they are going onto cars with a range of histories and issues even a 'perfect' panel might not fit anyway. More to the point, your car might not fit the panel  I can't think of any Porsche panel I wouldn't use. There was an issue with headlight bowls being set rig...

Re: Cellette with 911 pins.
This thread shows the two types I was aware of (you can see how heavy they both are), pure brackets or the MZ system (which is what I use, in conjunction with the Celette sill clamps for pulling). Re: Cellette with 911 pins.
Are those Celette brackets? They look very different to mine, but it could be they're a different version.
I know there are a lot of reverse engineered brackets around, but these aren't designed for pulling, although I'm sure are O.K. for a straight build.

Re: Are joins on 1970 911 petrol tanks brazed & how seal sea
Yes, you'd want to grind right back into the seam and well beyond (e.g. left and right of) the corrosion. Even so I'd recommend not getting into welding at all and trying the resin-based solutions. If you were to braze or weld, don't under estimate just how hard it is to purge the tank of vapour. I'...

Re: Are joins on 1970 911 petrol tanks brazed & how seal sea
No, they are roll-welded. If it's leaking from the seam it would be very hard to repair as a) the roll weld is back from the very edge of the two joining flanges, b) any repair is unlikely to fully penetrate sideways enough into the seam, and c) If you attempted a brazed repair in this area, you'd n...

Even so, sounds as though the mood music might be shifting which for me and my Austin 7 Trophy Specials can only be a good thing.
