Re: Fuel pump rebuild tips
Louis. One final point does your car have an inline fuel filter fitted in the engine bay in between the metal fuel pipe and the fuel pump? These have been added many times by people but not by the factory. I have never fitted one but just a possibility that might have a problem if fitted? Roy I've ...

Re: Fuel pump rebuild tips
Thanks Roy, I’m beginning to think I jumped too quickly into getting the rebuild kit. But looking at the pump with the top and filter off. It’s full of dry crud. So I think it’s at least time to clean that part out. I will give your twisty turn trick a go. Nothing to loose on that one. I must admit ...

Re: Fuel pump rebuild tips
No, I even jacked up the front of the car to give it some help. I’ve disconnected the fuel line to the pump. Should it be pouring out?
I dismantled the top of the pump and the amount of crap in there

Re: Fuel pump rebuild tips
Thanks,
I have an early , early T6. Bottom fuel sender tank. with the early fuel pump.
I'll make sure that the filter is not blocked in the petcock (haven't tried that)
This weekend - here goes, cravat ready!

Re: Fuel pump rebuild tips
Thanks all I'm not getting any fuel to the filter before the pump. So I suspect that its not sucking at all. Full'ish tank as I'm not too sure of on / off reserve thingy and if it should be the bend pointing or the end of the handle (if you know what I mean). I'll pull the rubber hose and dip in a b...

Fuel pump rebuild tips
I think I need to rebuild my fuel pump. It doesn't seem to be sucking anything. Has anyone got any hints/tips that I need to look out for. My main concern is: do I just take the pump out with gay abandon? or do I need to make sure that 'things are aligned' or anything like that? and do I need any se...

You said you got a key cut for your lock?
I have a lock and a blank key but haven't been able to find anyone to cut the key.
Did you do it yourself? I must admit I don't feel confident enough.

Re: Specialist dealer sold my car but won't give me proceeds
DiD YOU GET YOUR MONEY? I must admit, I wouldn't have been so patient. By the sounds of it, you had an open and shut agreement at the beginning. The dealer is getting a commission - not a loan also. No business should do that, however desperate. So hopefully you got your money. We are all watching!

Re: Backfire
Exhaust. I remember when my 912 had a leaky exhaust and would do quite impressive BANG as I slowed down.
