Welcome to try mine before you buy one. It's just big enough for a triple Weber.
Cheers

Re: Bogging down on Webers
It's a good site and he's a very knowledgeable and helpful bloke. Exchanged a few messages with him when I was going round in circles myself. Yes, did the quick tuning with the filters off because you need access to the inlet trumpets. It's recommended in general not to run without filters though, t...

Re: Bogging down on Webers
On mine the bakelite?? plate in the base of the distributor was breaking up. It was impeding movement of the advance mechanism. There are two advance profiles on my Bosch distributor and the low speed mechanism was particularly affected causing poor low speed acceleration. I wasted a long time chasi...

Re: Bogging down on Webers
Hi Rob, A couple of options here I guess. Strobe on lead 1 and plot dynamic crank advance at increasing rpm intervals. Convert crank advance values back to distributor advance then compare with factory curve. Where, (measured dynamic crank advance - static crank advance) / 2 = distributor advance Or...

Re: Bogging down on Webers
Hi Rob,
As well as more carb fine tuning it's a good idea to check the timing and that the advance mechanism is following the factory curve. Found my distributor to be way off when I eventually realised it was the cause of poor acceleration on my car.
Cheers

Re: Accelerator pedal fail
Probably a good idea to re-bush the pedal assembly and get a replacement throttle pedal. You're always welcome to take a look at my car for comparison.

Re: 911T - any thoughts on engine noises. Main bearing?
Sounds pretty normal to me too. Those Webers probably need setting up. Sounds like they're spitting back which suggests some throats are running a bit lean on idle circuit. 911 bottom end is very robust so unless abused doesn't normally give trouble. Can help with setup. Give me a shout if you're st...

Re: Near side 911 silver anodised door frame
Got one in the shed that I've been tripping over for years .
It's not perfect, and missing a couple of screws but you can have it if it helps you out. Or make a donation to DDK charity if you like.
PM your email address and I'll send photos.
Cheers,
Chris

Thanks for the advice everyone, I appreciate that.
Vapour blast and chromate it is then. I'll look into getting it done.
Kind regards,

Fan Housing
Hi All,
Can anyone suggest where to get my fan housing tidied up? It's been painted in the past, so I guess it needs stripping and clear anodizing??
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Hydraulic Tensioners on 2.0 Motor
Many thanks for the information and offer to share info from Wayne Dempsey's 101 projects book. I'd forgotten I owned a copy of Wayne's How to Rebuild and Modify Porsche 911 Engines, and it also advises swopping the chain housings on '65 to '67 cars in order to use the pressure fed tensioner kit. I ...
