It's possible to drill your existing hubs, but you'll ideally want to add some bosses to increase the thickness. Have you reviewed this thread? It covers pretty much all you need to know regarding a five stud conversion.

Re: DCNF webber 40s
You might have better luck posting them on the MG Owners Club forum - I sold a similar set of carbs on there a few years ago. Otherwise, Retro Rides could be good too.

Re: Mellow yellow!
Excellent colour for a 914! With regards to upgrades, 911 front struts and a five-stud conversion are popular. This enables brake upgrades including early 911 callipers but also light weight Brembo's as fitted to 1980's Alfa's. You should be able to upgrade the tie rods to 930 turbo, I think this ca...

Re: Friday trip into West Java
Flat 4 in Meguri Dori could be worth connecting with - largely old VW, but they're also a dealer with some Porsches passing through. Another could be the RWB workshop which is about 70mins from Tokyo - possibly open to the public on certain days? https://scontent.fmel2-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/16683...

Also have a set of these wheels to fit some day. Think they suit the 914 really well - what colour is your car? https://scontent.ficn1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/30515755_10156412216479314_8572540249329106944_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&_nc_eui2=v1%3AAeFD2_Lu-q4MYMHrCYbil389S-ztn4WUYXHbMPJ-P7GRGF5u3TuBaVaGjeh...

Re: Recomendations for a high torque starter
Fitted one off a later SC without any modifications. Just had to make sure it had a spade connector, however is a bit heavier than the standard one.
All the best,
Steven
