Re: Tyres 356
There are only 3 reasons for not fitting Cinturato or XAS
https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classi ... e/356.html
1/ It is a Pre A on 162 Wheels.
2/ your are racing.
3/ you just want crossply.
4/ you want something cheap.
oops! thats 4 reasons.

Re: Tyre choices
oo that won't handle as well. 185/70R15 CN36 is OK. yes they are fatter, but they do still have the right kind of carcass for your car and will handle nicely as a result. https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/pirelli-collezione/cinturato-cn36.html Yeh I ended up with a set of AVON CR6-ZZ’s in 185/70 r15...

Re: Tyre recommendations for a 356A
As I stated on here before. I contacted a period tyre producer and asked them to compare their offering with a modern tyre. They replied the modern tyre was much better at 1/3 of the cost Sent from my M2004J19C using Tapatalk Which tyre manufacturer did you ask that of? did you specify what car and...

Re: 185/70VR15 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 back in stock
no not in CN36. That is the wrong size for Porsche anyway. What car is it for? 1970 Porsche 911. Can 215/60 R15 be fitted with an inner tube? Hmm 1970 911 fittted 185/70VR15 CN36 front and rear. https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classic-car-tyres/porsche/911.html I would continue with that. I think ...

Re: Tyre recommendations
So apart from how they look, what are the compromises? I think you need to do a better sales pitch for your CN36s than that! You must have missed a few points i have made. I guess this is the strongest one, because this is independent. https://www.cinturato.net/images/test-classic-tyres-0716.pdf bu...

Re: Harry's Garage, Lancia Fulvia Zagato 1600 video
Hi I went to Harrys Garage a bit ago to sort some tyres out for his Coutache, and while i was there i took the opportunity to make a quick film about the Pirelli P7 tyres that are also so important to classic Porsche. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blx17QhdrVQ&t=7s It is a pretty ace garage, an...

Re: Tyre recommendations
I dont think anyone is going to critisize the wet performance of the CN36 in the wet (let alone any other circumstance https://scontent-lcy1-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.18172-8/13502623_1140775412655834_9167536679354435709_o.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=730e14&_nc_ohc=xLjA5bm7k80AX8VjVHz&...

Re: Tyre recommendations
So apart from how they look, what are the compromises? I think you need to do a better sales pitch for your CN36s than that! the bit about the tread being too flat and the diameter being wrong are pretty strong elements. It is alround the wrong shape, size and structure. There are some pretty stron...

Re: Tyre recommendations
hang on a minute. we arent trying to convince ourselves that those tyres look alright are we? they look the wrong diameter, the tread looks too flat for your chassis. the tread looks like a completely modern design and the side wall is nearly as bad a s the Vredestein. Sorry i dont meant to be rude,...
