Great to revisit this site after seeing so much along the way that I had never really listened to. I'm trying to make up for it now, and have really enjoyed exploring from the hints this thread has provided. But your rock list, pjmt, has reminded me of at least a few I had forgotten that would defin...

Just sent my annual subscription payment by Paypal, plus an additional 1GBP to cover postage of the sticker to Japan (in lieu of a SAE as not sure what it is likely to cost). I think you have my address - if not, please let me know and I can provide again.

Cheers

Hi again I'm currently enjoying a very nice summer "cruise" in my 911S Targa with the soft rear window out and the top off in brilliant weather in Hokkaido. During a stop today so that she who must be obeyed could buy some nice organic veg for dinner tonight, we drove into a parking lot an...

G'day Johnny We use the names all the time. It seems much easier to say "Are we taking Brunhilde?" than "Are we going in the 911S?". I guess "the silver one" or "the orange one" is an easy alternative. But they DO have personalities. I like the name Kathryn. I...

Cars' Names

Do other people have names for their P cars? My family, when I was growing up in Australia, always gave names to the cars we all drove. And it is something I still do. My P cars, both in Oz and here in Japan, have always had feminine names. It probably has something to do with their shape, and parti...

For what it is worth, I have recently put in the same NGK ones here in Japan. Along with new ignition leads and suppressor caps, etc. - made up from a length of the lead bought from Stoddards - and the difference is fantastic. Don't think it is only the plugs, but it all feels hugely better than bef...

I'm sure you're all quite right about this proposed deal. Of course, his story is that he has tried heaps of them in the UK, and they all have . . . . history of accidents, rust, various mechanical faults, etc., etc. He wants a more "pure" one straight out of Japan. In any case, I have now...

Many, many thanks all for the super quick responses. Obviously I cannot ignore your experienced comments. I'll go back to him and see if I can suss out why he can't do any other form of payment. It did all sound a bit too good to be true. Will be interesting to see what he has to say. Or if he just ...

I have just been offered a very good price for a Subaru Legacy I have been offering for sale in Australia (GTB E-tuned, 2000cc, twin turbo, Bilstein shocks, etc). The amazing thing is that it is from a bloke in the UK.He says he is happy to pay my asking price plus shipping Aust - UK. While amazed, ...

Apologies for not updating early in response to the helpful advice I received. I had to get back to Oz to sort out some business and haven't had a chance to get back on line. I'm still not back in Japan yet, but hopefully next week. Before leaving however, I managed to get the fanbelt off and note t...

It is Tangerine. So is mine, and I have dozens of photos taken of it in different light and it can look like anything between bright red and pale pink. It is an odd color photographically. But to my mind, there is no doubt it is tangerine. I guess the color code changes from year model to year model...

Many thanks for the helpful responses. I'll get the fan belt off over the weekend and see if the noise vanishes. When I am driving, I can't hear it at all - with the back window zipped out and a bit of weight on the accelerator and all those other wonderful P-car noises drown everything else out. It...
