Yes, the guy said the 914 is not on his system. I've just come back from doing some rudementary measurements and it seems that the left front wheel centre is 1.5cm's closer to the rear wheel centre than the right side. It looks like the smack has pushed the left front wheel towards the rear of the c...

4 wheel alignment - what settings?

I've got to take my car in for 4 wheel alignment as there's something wrong with the setup. It oversteers going round left hand bends and understeers going round right hand bends. It's had a smack on the front left hand side so I'm afraid that might of knocked something out of kilter. I've had the t...

That is a bloody good idea, I'll try that when I get a chance, before I go and order up a new set of springs.

Yep, just checked underneath and there's no evidence of the bottom spring perch being adjustable. I'll order up a set of new 165 rated springs from Pelican and see if that resolves the drivers side sag. Not sure about the inserts, sorry. Perhaps a mail off the Pelican will help out, they sertainly g...

I know that  but some shocks have an adjustable mount for the spring to sit on which can adjust the ride height, is the KYB one of these? :)

Are KYB Gas-A-Just rear shocks height adjustable?

I've got a set on the back of mine but I can't see if they're height adgustable.

The drivers side on the back has a serious sag so I need to either adjust the height or get new springs.

Cheers

I've now got to the bottom of this. Spoke to many retailers including Pelican, ForestFine and of course MM. There has apparently been a quality issue with this part in that the bond between the 3 strips of rubber seal (i.e. top of window bit and the 2 bits that go down the sides) has been known to f...

Had a great wkend in the 914 over Easter, here's a pic....

I put a load of miles on the car to guage reliability of the engine before I start to prep her up for racing....no probs to report. I went to Loton Park hill climb near Shrewsbury where I took these pics. Looking forward to the Porsche Speed Challenge arriving in August. Next on the agenda is a set ...

Tom - It was a bit of a stretch to get it to go onto the top of the windscreen bit but I thought that was normal (not having installed any of these seals before). In fact you can see how much I had to stretch it by, as now it's torn apart it resumed a natural position and the gap between the 2 piece...

My new Mittelmotor window rubber seal has torn in 2 WTF???

Went to the garage last week and noticed a small tear in the new rubber seal (the expensive one that goes across the windscreen and down the sides  ). Was a bit concerned to say the least, was going to take a pic of it and send it to MM, went out to the garage today and it's now completely to...

I gotta disagree  the sound of a supercharged flat 4 is a much sexier sound than a plain old flat six, especially if the flat 4 is a big thumper like a 2.4l or bigger. I've built a few supercharged type4 motors now: 2.4litre with Eaton M45 and blow thru 48mm Dells 2litre with Eaton M45 and sing...

Waaahooo!! Passed MOT with flying colours :-)

Yep, my '14 passed without a hitch today. Got it insured and MOT'd now. Just need a trip to the DVLA office to get some age related plates :P

Can't wait for some sunny days to start enjoying it and some road rallies to start raggin' it.

Sorry guys it was 19.

It was indeed the spot welds that hold the clutch cable tube to the side of the tunnel that was at fault. They had completely come away from the tunnel. Fixed it now...not an easy job though

Car's booked in for the MOT this Thursday...fingers crossed

My shifter's interfering with clutch tube?? whats going on?

I recently decided to renew all bushes etc on my side shifter before I get it MOT'd next Thurs (wish I never started now). After I've got it all back together the shifter now interferes with the clutch cable tube to such an extent that every time I put my foot on the clutch pedal the gearshift moves...
