Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Not so much that there was anything wrong with mine, but I got all edge casey and thought what if I'm braking and the person behind now can't really see the indicators. See edge case... they're bloody bright and nobody should be in any doubt what you're doing to anyone behind you Sent from my SM-G98...

For what it's worth, the existing relay (73 911) worked just fine on the LED indicators and hazards. Sent fro...

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......

thats how much sugar scoops devalue an early car ;) [emoji38] Went on a dig through my old yahoo email.... Ignoring the 1976 typo, here's the closing of buying a 1967 912 in New York in 2004 for $6,500 or back then £3,600 Now feeling moderately sick because somewhere in there is a receipt for £1,50...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Discovered how unobtainable and expensive an actual Leitz roof rack is, which allowed me to convince myself that the QSC version was the "sensible" option.... Irked that only one side of the gutter clamp has rubber on it and that whilst the arms to rack bolts are coach bolts so have some t...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Joined the Porsche Classic Register and collected these grille badges from my local dealer. There is also a purple/green hippy one available in the range. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52650533293_71fa7313d8_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52650494085_7bfb96083c_c.jpg Very nice [emo...

Re: LED dash/gauge lights

Just checked the dimmer and it doesn't seem to make much if any difference. Thanks for checking, now that has crept onto the jobs to be done list I'm going to put some new standard ones in as only a few pounds on Amazon and see how I feel about those as quite like the idea of being able to dim them...

Re: LED dash/gauge lights

Installed my LEDs today and it certainly looks a lot brighter. I only upgraded the illumination and not any of the warning lights - I may revisit this though. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52629163713_2df8cff229_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52628698361_8082e5d240_c.jpg Great pic....

Re: Fan refurbishing

Had my fan and housing vapour blasted locally for £75

No idea of that's a good or bad price, as quick and nearby was the order of the day

Re: Tyre recommendations

My two bob's worth, when I was doing 911 I wasn't too shy on the cost of it all, but there is no way I'm paying that much on a consumable item. Horses for courses though. Thought long and hard about the Dunlop blus but in the end decided the artwork on the sidewall was too exciting for me. Went with...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Today....... Took the oil pressure gauge out, took it apart and reattached the silver nipple back on. Then decided it was time to make the clock going (Kienzle). Put a temporary strand of wire to bridge the fusible link to the coil. That got it going, so ordered up some bits from Amazon to service i...
