Re: Hello everyone!

The car looks great! Congratulations on eventually getting through the DVLA process - it has been a pain for the last two years, with understaffing, Covid shutdowns and then, as you say, strikes. Things are still far from normal, so it's great that you can finally enjoy the car. Sand Beige looks fa...

Any advice on stripping Fuchs wheels?

Hi, I'm a total noob in this regard. Anyhow, I've bought a restomod with five all black genuine Fuchs wheels. I'n no fan of all black wheels and I want to up the ~chrome (polished metal) on the car generally. What's the best way to approach de-painting the Fuchs, or would you advise against doing so...

Let's see if this works. These are the missing items, highlighted on the side they're not missing.:

Are headlight parts available?

I bought some original RHD headlights to go into my 1970 911T US import, but one of them has a couple of missing parts - are any of these available? They're both from the same side and they're the mountings either side of the internal reflector. Firstly, a long bolt whose centre section is a spring ...

Re: Dashboard & Door Pulls RHD repros

If you have time available, there's a video on YouTube of an original dash being filled and recovered in vinyl. It looked pretty good in the end but I don't know how long it lasted. If I treied it, I think I'd cover with grp to hold it all together first. But I'd probably just buy new to be fair as ...

Re: New 1970 911T member - and questions

^ This. Happy to come over to Lichfield and look over it with you and offer some thoughts if you decide to keep it as it is for now. Kings Lynn is a bit far! :) That's a really kind offer - but then I wouldn't get to drive it anywhere!! Maybe we meet up half way :) Most likely I'll get it roadworth...

Who has a Celette Jig for an early (1970) 911?

Hi, I'm in the Midlands and need to get a bit of structural work done ot the floor etc. I'm just wondering who if anyone (private or commercial) has a 911 jig for a 1970 body, or does this kind of work for a reasonable price? (already have the name of Barry Carter but he's miles away!) Thanks in adv...

Re: New 1970 911T member - and questions

Any advice on where to start with restoration?: Since you ask... one word of advice, from someone who has been there... From the pics, this is not a local repairs / patching candidate. It needs stripping back to a blasted shell. Floors and sills will be coming out both sides, so it _must_ go on a (...

Re: Engine / Gearbox numbers discrepancy

Given the age of the car, it's most likely a Sporto that's been converted to manual earlier in its life, like many of them were when they were relatively cheap cars and spares were plentiful and cheap by today's standards. Is it on 14" Fuchs? JW It's on Fuchs - not sure of the size. Turns out ...
