I'm going to attempt to backdate the lock mechanism on my car. Just wondering if anyone had any of the ->73 lock linkages they might want to sell ?
Basically the bits that connect the lock button on the door card top to the lock mechanism.

Thanks Andy - that last photo on the second page is really helpful ! Looks like the pin and circlip is going to be a DIY job.

Re: Fitting 73 RS Lightweight door cards (and pull straps)
Should have said... ...from browsing Google it looks like the leather (not vinyl) pull strap should have an eyelet at one end. Mine doesn't have this - just two lengths of leather strap. If anyone knows what diameter eyelet is needed and what kind of pin and circlip is used, that'd be much appreciat...

Fitting 73 RS Lightweight door cards (and pull straps)
Hi
I couldn't find anything obvious in the resto threads. Does anyone know of thread on how to fit these ? (especially the pull straps which seem to be just lengths of black vinyl with no fittings)
Many Thanks
Ian

Um...I'd be strengthening those mounts. Front and rear. Doubly so if the torsion bars are going.

Re: Receiving Parcels from the EU Post Brexit....
Been waiting for a snowboard (bought from Salomon's UK site) since January. It got all the way to Kent (from Germany) then I got a message from DHL saying I needed to pay £40 excise and VAT. Salomon said don't pay it, it's a mistake. Nothing happened. It went back to Germany. They've got such a back...

Hi All - I bought them, and yes they do fit, but you need different rubber gaskets as the later ones look pants on the early handles.
I've now got a pair of re-chromed later handles for sale...

Anyone know if the older (push-button) door handles are a direct swap onto later doors ?

Re: Exterior door release
Turned out to be a broken trigger. That's happened to me before, but last time the whole thing broke. This time, it had only partly failed meaning it couldn't push the release pin far enough out.

Re: Exterior door release
Hi - that sounds like a very likely cause. I had a feel around inside the door and nothing seemed loose, but I suppose it could have drifted over time and still not be obviously loose. I'll check the screws.
Thanks
