Porsche 356b T5 (the one with the plastic front)

Most of you know this car by now, it's been through a series of owners, and I promised not to do this but having owned the car a year, taking it to Denmark with me, I have not touched it in six months, which is disgusting, this car deserves more! So the car is back in Norfolk. It still has valid MOT...

You could spend £30K on the car then need to spend another £30k putting it right. but to be fair, a car that has been put right, or fully restored is generally not going to be within the prices quoted, or readily available. we may like to think that every 356 is a bondo free gem, when the reality i...

Mine is the white one, and I am assuming it is the gearbox mounts that are to blame for the lowslung problem........I will update as I know more. It is a KK system and J-tubes......but as you have seen they are not normally like mine, and my gearbox mounts are pretty soggy looking. Hope this doesn't...

Loud. Very loud. But purposeful and awesome in every way. And actually behind the wheel it's not too bad at all. Mine was from KK and now resides in Denmark on my heap of a 356, if me and Cubist start up at a prearranged time you could listen in stereo. The flanges (teehee) were a little bit out of ...

King pin removal especially if siezed needs a hydraulic bench press and expertize to complete the operation. You can't use your workshop vice! or a big hammer. The setup for both the king pins and the link pins is difficult if you have never done this before a few times. I believe Mike at PRS will ...

I have mailed him but so far no news......that engine would go a treat in my little banger! Actual Kjeld is very secretive about his cars, and even with teh 356 link his assitant mailed back apologising that he very rarely meets with anyone about his cars. His loss.....maybe. And yeah I work for LEG...

EDIT: I will keep an eye on the internal classifieds in the hope the Motor and Box pop up there......

Everyone sitting down?

My boss had a little incident in his Carrera this weekend. He doesn't like too much publicity about his (epic) car collection, but you guys might be interested in this poor thing. I am sure it will be back on the track again soon though!

That king pin suggestion is a good one, my friend had a VW split van that was a death wish to drive at any real speed before I freed up a binding King pin. Also I thought with dropped spindles the excessive bump steer problem was avoided as essentially the working geometry of the front suspension r...

Are the king pins stiff in the bushes? When I mean stiff, is there any friction at all? there shouldn't be. Good luck, W They did feel a bit tight, I am beginning to suspect this may be the problem. Annoying really as that means having them fitted AGAIN. Steve, I set the shims up as you suggested s...

Re: So - Who has the right of way

Is'nt in Holland that there are funny signs in the high streets,(think they have three lines accross them) which indicate the drivers joining the high street/main road, have the right of way say from a side road??? That keeps the speed down and the concentration up. The question on motorways as sai...

Re: 356 Handling

A properly set up 356 handles almost as well as a modern car - it should certainly not frighten you even at speeds over 100 mph If it gives you any concerns you have to be prepared to start AT THE BEGINNING and work your way through everything to do with the suspension and the geometry Just checkin...

Sorry Craggle but you deserve what you get if you dickey around with this stuff
I know I took this risk but the car did handle the same before I replaced these.
