Re: Classic Autowerks ‘Ultimate Shift Rod Bushing’

I believe two things transform the shifting 1. Rebuilding the gearbox 2. Good adjustment of the rear linkage The German spring is a great addition for predictability, though it has no impact on the actual shifting. Other things make a small to no difference. This bush may make a small difference but...

Re: Classic Autowerks ‘Ultimate Shift Rod Bushing’

Installed this afternoon. As suggested this is easy to do and the only mild pain the grub screw that holds the cup. I ended up using a 4mm hex bit and a spanner. Interestingly the shape of my bracket seems a little diff, it has a zigzag pattern on the edge and fitting the new bush required mild forc...

Best short shift kit for 915 gearbox?

Another +1 for the Karsten spring.
My 83 sc has 69k miles and the gearbox has never had any work. Replaced all bushes and the joint , added the spring and some careful adjustment and it works well. The spring adds a lot of confidence and precision for very minimal cost and effort.

Re: 914 914-6 911(?) Front Heater Control Air Box & Defroster

The 914 blend valve plastic part is the same as 911 but the metal brackets are not. That’s good to know. The one on my sc has a broken off arm on one of the flaps ; see pic Could I remove the flap and use that ? It looks feasible. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20230131/c0f58fce1999d92cf49f9544fa...

Re: 914 914-6 911(?) Front Heater Control Air Box & Defroster

Hi. I need the left one ( driver side I believe ) just need to make sure it’s the same as on my 911.

Happy to pay 70 if it’s a fit.

Cheers

Re: Sewing Club

Thanks With some of the remaining vinyl we repaired the two side parts of the felt trunk carpet. The pop studs pulled out and the felt would not hold them. Drilled out and added a nice vinyl binding and new studs. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220701/9dbce2f062c766bff87d0914da1c5096.jpg https:/...

Re: Sewing Club

Got my wife ( also a quilter by trade ) to make me a replacement tool roll for the impact bumper. The outside is vinyl from the back of a 1972 Mercedes seat, rest is new vinyl. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220630/1ffc6b5dd5138af93150127c0ee1cc6c.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220630/c2...
