Re: From ‘72T to 2.5 S/T: GeLo #44
Some nice ally bits sorted: new rear panel just arrived at Greatworth (thanks 210bhp! 8) ) and a barn find '73 rear lid and grille in Belgium secured thanks to eagle-eyed Billy Bean on Porsche Parts group on Facebook. That's a rare WTB sorted a lot quicker than I was expecting - I owe you for that o...

Re: From ‘72T to 2.5 S/T: GeLo #44
Just a quick update today: In an attempt to get the T engine running with a view to offering it for sale, Angus discovered that the non-standard CIS metering head and various other parts of the fuel system were all seized having stood for decades and no amount of release oil would free them up. He t...

Re: My 356 finally arrived from the US
Stunning! Would thoroughly recommend Kingstown as well - first class service from first contact to easy-peasy customs clearance thanks to Hollie. NOVA admin all subsequently taken care of as well. All for £500. Just need to get it registered now before we start pulling the car apart and turning it i...

Re: Ally deck lid
No worries Andy! I'll be interested to see what my S has on it when it gets here, as I thought some S had ally rear lids?

Thanks Rob.
Flickr seems to be working pretty well for me so far - 1000 free photo uploads and easy editing and IMG sharing functions too. App and website both allow sharing to DDK although I find the website easier for this.

Re: Ally deck lid
Thanks for the offer but I really want a genuine one rather than a replica.
If I can’t get a genuine one over the next couple of years or so, there are plenty of replica options out there to choose from including Porsche Classic, Restoration Design, Carpoint, Eckert etc.

Re: From ‘72T to 2.5 S/T: GeLo #44
No, I have no idea unfortunately. It's probably sat in a barn or a garage somewhere in the world looking very sorry for itself and not much like an S/T anymore. I do know that its engine ended up in period in another S/T (911 230 1195) owned and raced by Toni Fischhaber but have no idea how that cam...

So, here's the 'rari tyre jack kit with ultra-rare Stafor centrelock wrench: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51746125823_266148eb5d_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51745064812_25343d0651_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51745064742_af6260b961_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.co...

Re: From ‘72T to 2.5 S/T: GeLo #44
Thanks, I wanted to upload a photo of the ‘rari tyre jack kit and some of the deep- and flat-sixes but I got a couple of error messages saying photos have to be limited to 256Kb and 800 x 600 pixels and a maximum of 3 per post?

Thanks! Not sure how long my optimism will last - Billy Bean has given me a proper heads-up on just what I have taken on here!

Re: From ‘72T to 2.5 S/T: GeLo #44
Thanks. The complete T CIS engine will be sold and I have a complete but disassembled ‘72 S engine with a std/std crank which will form the basis of the 2.5 twin-plug MFI type 911/70 race engine. Aiming for 270 bhp @ 8,000 rpm, so this one certainly should be no slouch! Good luck. What are your plan...
