Re: attaching LWB bumper
1970 car. There's a right angle bracket for the bumper that attaches to this bracket on each battery box. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240504/895a4c3ae5485868f538281f77e8738c.jpg You can see it sat on top of the battery box here: https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240504/3f196eeed7016a32c5bf42...

Re: Assessing an unknown engine
After making up a cam nut removal tool today I found a bit of time to revisit this broken flywheel stud. After covering up all the journals and threads to protect from spatter, I welded the sheared head back on and it reversed straight out with the mini impact driver. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.co...

Re: Can you guess what it is yet?
From the head of the high tensile bolt I fashioned a couple of these prisms. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240504/a03bc8311fb6221e34290c6925350ca9.jpg Which I welded into the socket. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240504/1ae744de57bdb19993f1a0599188e5c2.jpg A smaller shim on the bottom of t...

I cut the head off this high tensile bolt. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240504/13b5754f7582d5835b8009f7cb96fd4c.jpg The sleeve I cut goes perfectly over this 19mm impact socket. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240504/05e976732febfd544272d18f89deaef1.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2024...

Re: Can you guess what it is yet?
Round two if anyone enjoys guessing... this one's dead easy. I put this old taper drive drill bit in a makeshift lathe. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240504/310f576e706bc1e571e4750f2717d947.jpg Cut the end off https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240504/ef3dc5456d5157fd03813964cac9998d.jpg And cu...

From Wikipedia, some guys told a story of their shill bidding and... Walton and his associates were charged and convicted of fraud by federal authorities for their eBay shill bidding. Probably because it deceives buyers regarding the market value because one reason for buying in an auction is you kn...

And 62.03mm across the engine bore although that was trickier to measure. Not sure what spec is. Maybe it says in Dempsey.

Re: Assessing an unknown engine
I don't have any experience what the crank bearings should look like. All were seated properly, no rotation. They appear to be mint on the inside. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240502/ea001695d32eb189b04f48660059e8f0.jpg But on the outside they appear to show signs of oil erosion, which is a su...

Re: Porsche ranked least reliable car
By way of counterpoint - the 700,000 mile Porsche 911. Track days, regular oil changes and used daily. Although to be fair, it did have an engine refresh after 383,000 miles to deal with some minor oil leaks.

Re: Porsche for sale of the day..........
Is it legal to take bids off the wall under the reserve in the US? If so maybe it was that. Deceives buyers as to the value, since they think there are other buyers out there at that money. So I should think you could pin a fraud charge on an auctioneer if you could prove it. Sent from my SM-G988B ...

Re: Assessing an unknown engine
How can you rebuild an engine without cleaning it and leaving broken piston in it? Pistons changed without splitting the case and they thought they got away with it? What do you think caused the oil starvation? Sealant or broken piston? Sent from my 22011119UY using Tapatalk Looks that way - either...
