Re: 1973 911T Seats?

I looked long and hard at those Cobra seats as on option. Though in the end went with the Mark W option with corduroy inserts. The Cobra upper parts were ok but the seat bases seemed too narrow compared to Mark's (not saying I've a fat arse, more in comparison to the originals) Sent from my SM-G981B...

Re: A question about lights on a 73T...

After some quite extensive sodding around with all sorts of bulbs (anyone want some NOS 5w H5s [emoji23]) I went the LED route The H5 to H4 adapters for the bowls came from https://www.classiccarleds.co.uk/collections The LED bulbs I got are an exact fit, shape, dimensions for H4s and came from Amaz...

Re: The shite ownership cycle

You're not wrong.... all booked in to Jaz (and after a little back and forth "amicably" resolved with the other garage - pity as one of the guys down there is truly first rate in other areas but affiliated with the garage)

Re: SSI Heat Exchangers

Hi Duncan,

At the mo they're provisionally held for AllanS, who I think is also up your way. It's been a little while since we've spoken about the heat exchangers. I'll check in with him and see where it's at.

Cheers,
E

Re: How hot is hot?

Hi James, Gauge wise it shows 180f and then under 210 when on a long drive, there's no external cooler. A bit like you for no real reason, I pointed the infrared thermometer at a few bits after a long drive and it turned up with 36 on the engine grille and 62 on the fan. Which made me think somethin...

Re: How hot is hot?

Also a good point. I'm seeing this as progress to be at the point of thinking up new things to be worried about [emoji23] Though having driven it last night (that was it's longest trip and first time in the dark) and being reminded just how pants the headlights are that there's something else to wor...

Re: How hot is hot?

Good point on it being hot at stop. I'm pretty sure it was back towards the 180f towards the end of the drive. The start of it was more why is engine grille so hot, which then led to pointing the thermometer at things and wondering if 65c when pointing at the fan is normal. When I woke up this morni...

How hot is hot?

Just got back from the Ace Cafe (Harrow Car Club) about an hour's drive, North Circular, A1M, M25 etc, so plenty enough time to get hot. Oil temperature a bit under the 210 line in the gauge, and putting the car away touched the engine grille which seemed properly hot. Waggled the thermometer in the...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?

Oh and on my newly liberated car.. fixed the fuel sender, (why would you expect a new one to work out of the box) and refitted the bungees on the door pockets so that they'll now take your fingers off if you're not careful. Then went to a car show in Tewin

You might have missed a trick there Rob...

What better birthday activity than giving all the kids their own angle grinder and setting them to work....

Best birthday ever!
