Re: Road Tripping to the Pyrenees
Yes when we stopped in the afternoon we were all actively helping Gary trace the noise https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240524/00a32dbb5c85096cb0d7d72f74803371.jpg Just to be clear the GT4 was incredibly capable but I was taking the corners in 2nd not 5th. I would far rather have been in my backda...

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod
I think I’m maybe not explaining it very well. It was rough in different ways throughout the rev range. At about 4k it sounded more normal but when I lifted off it sounded wrong as well. I don’t have enough experience listening to bad running engines I’ll also admit I tend to jump at one diagnosis. ...

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod
Thanks guys. In the middle of the night I started thinking that the problem could still be with the injection loom. I know it got stretched when I first removed the engine and I know some of the wiring has splits in it. I checked for shorts but didn’t check each plug for continuity. If there was a s...

OK I’m beaten. I popped 20 litres of fresh E5 fuel in the other night. Today the other 5 new injectors arrived and this evening I put them in. 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod
Well. OK so first, barring a miracle I’m resigned to taking the white car on holiday. On the battery side of things I think it’s been probably failing for a while - I’ve been reconditioning it a lot using the reconditioner - which now I think about it has shown it to be in bad condition when just le...

Re: 1987 3.2 Carrera Backdate project - Sladeys hotrod
Ok so I had been charging an odyssey battery up over the weekend and connected that up https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20240506/cb52e319e1b56235eddc9cb3fc26c894.jpg Not the neatest but it is connected. This time the immobiliser plipped fine and it started up fine. It ran a lot better than last time...
