Haha, I wondered if you might mention that Richard! I have erased the entire thing from my memory, the internet and everything else. I'm not even sure it really happened

I do seem to remember a corner it didn't quite go round somewhere - but that's true of all competition cars I guess!

Re: 996 / 997 gt3 /RS

Good discussion and much of it spot-on. The other parameter with a 20 year old car - which 996s are - is whether it's a good one or not. Many have been messed about with and have lot their way as a result. Comfort or Clubsport, buy an original example. Start with magnetic North, then do your own mes...

Re: John Akers

Hi Dave, good to hear about Clive and looking forward to the photos. The cars I am aware of are LYL 2D, last seen as a resto project in Australia some ten years ago, and CJM 540D, which I haven't been able to trace. Do you know what colour CJM was? It looks dark blue or something similar from some o...

Re: I have found a RHD1968 911L and need help please.

Buy this car and restore it all in for £100k, within 4 years it might be worth £80k so only lost £20k, 8 years later still worth £80k Let me have a go at that. Within 4 years you will have started the resto. 8 years later it still won't be finished. You will have bought a 992 in the meantime. Amiri...

Re: John Akers

An old thread, but worth reviving in case anything came of it. I recently found some fantastic photos of John racing early 911s on the sand at Southport in the late-1960s/early1970s. They were taken by Peter McFadyen. I believe John was spannered by Clive Turnbull - another name people may recognise...

If you want a more period-correct, ie solid, Momo-type hub, you can try Jacob Engineering - scroll down at this link https://jacobengineering.co.uk/index.ph ... -wheels-2/. No affiliation and not intended to detract from Andy's excellent wheels

Re: 1972 ST Clone

Very interesting and commendably honest as always Kirk. I await further updates on your 100 litre sender experience - can it really cost £400 to get one that works? Best wishes, Robert
