Re: 928's - any good?

Well....I've taken the plunge....after seeing some real tat, I now have a 928S 1983 vintage. Plenty of work to do on it. Happy to share, but appreciate it's not a water cooled forum so no issue if it's not the done thing ( though for balance I still have my 914-6 for some proper air cooled tomfooler...

Re: rear springs

Hi Jon, from recollection IMHO the car handled great, but was certainly firm, so A good move. I took the banger out the other day- roads which a 'modern' glides over had me picking up my fillings out of the passenger footwell LOL

Re: master cylinder replace or refurb?

Hi all, I have a 17mm us spec one. Came off a car that I did a 5 bolt wheel upgrade. It's been in my garage for a few years and needs a good spruce up, but worked when I took it off. Free to anyone passing (I live in Wokingham near Reading).

Re: Regulator for 72 CAR

Hi Berny, I have a Beru regulator, brand new unused. £39.50 from design911 (pt 90160320602/1). I am not sure if it is solid state but £25 posted if any use?

Re: steel wheels

Just in case it is of interest, have 1 x 914 one with correct et40 offset. Needs blasting/painting but £40 if you decide to go with the correct width.

Re: Engine fault 2.4T

Hi Maurice, mine does somethings very similar. I can't remember if you are running carbs or injection, but mine is caused by some wear in the bushes on my carbs allowing the throttle plates to move slightly and 'flutter' against the Carb body. On wider throttle openings it goes away as the throttle ...

Re: 928's - any good?

I hadn't realised there was such a clandestine 928 'chapter' on DDK, some wonderful cars out there.

Jonno, first dibs on yours if you ever decide to move it on, that is just what I had in mind when I started this thread... 8)

Tie rods grrrr

To cut a long (boring) story short, my car always has had a bit of a wheel shimmy despite new tyres, multiple balancing and new front bearings. What I spotted was one of the front hubs (to which the brake disc bolts) seemed to be slightly distorted. No idea how, but have replaced and looks like it h...

Re: Regulator woes (I think)

Sorry for the tardy response, but for info, followed Maurice's tip and bought the cargo regulator. Just the job, and works like a dream- bargain! Cheers Maurice!
