The mystery car is actually the Robster mobile mk1! yep my first 914! It's now owned by Paul Herbert. Last time I heard from him, the shell has now had GT arches fitted.

Apparently it will have a 2.8RSR spec engine! Bonkers! A bit faster than when it had my old 2.0L in it...

Hi Derek, I run EBC pads on the Robster mobile. These are standard (i.e not the 'greenstuff' pads), but they still have Kevlar in them, and I have found them to be loads better than the original spec stuff. EBC can be found on the web (thats where i ordered them), but I have lost the link....oops I ...

Hi Moggy, great to see the car getting used (and abused!). To raise the front, all you need to do is wind the torsion bar adjusters. to raise the rear, I would recommend a set of bilsteins with adjustable spring perches, which allows you to easily raise or lower the rear of the car as you see fit. d...

Hi Derek,

That green car looks awesome. (great quality photos for a camera phone)

Why don't you ditch the 911, and stick the 993 engine in your 914!

just a thought.....

Hi Kev, does it missfire at low revs, but clears when you give it some welly (above 2500 rpm ish), if so could be a blocked idle jet. I run webers on my car, and don't get many probs, but amazingly, I can park the car in my garage, and I've got a blocked jet when I take it back out! Well set up carb...

Hi Barry, Darren is spot on. Do check that you are turning the adjuster the correct way - I believe one of the calipers has a 'reverse' thread, so it may be you are turning the adjuster the wrong way. If the adjuster was missing, you would have lost all your brake fluid! there is a good article on t...

Hi Barry, I reckon it could be the indicator stalk, and the point at which it connects to the steering column connections. As you seem to have dealt with everything else, it doesn't leave a lot else! It sounds like as the indicator stalk is moved, that it makes and then breaks the connection to the ...

Hi Barry, how about dropping in a subaru engine, not one for the purists, but I believe they will fit in the 914 engine bay, even the suburu impreza turbo engine! (Not sure what you do with cooling though..) There is a good book called Turbomania, which has a picture of a 914 with a turbo installati...
