Re: Steve McQueen Car or not?

Hello everyone, It is Steve McQueen's 1969 car I assure you and I'm happy to prove it. It's just an inconvenient truth which I've been trying to discuss discreetly with Chad for over two years but got blocked at every turn. But as we can't do that privately now, I'm inviting public scrutiny of all t...

Re: Heresy

Staying with the brand, how about a 944 Turbo S ? Silver roses are hard to find now as good ones are nailed on investment wise. Personally, I couldn't live with the colour or an interior that looks like the cat was sick on it. But after them, Porsche made another 1670 in more palatable colours and l...

Absolutely gorgeous! But maybe so perfect you'd be frightened to use it much.

Re: New member - McQueen911

I would think so. The Speedster was the first new car McQueen ever bought (although his wife actually paid for it) and won his first race in. A local SCCA event. He sold it a year later to step up to a Lotus 11 but bought it back again in 1974. The last new car he bought will surprise most people as...

The stretch limo is too Yankey Doodle and just wrong. What would Ferry think! But turn the van into a hearse and I'd be OK with taking my last spin down the road in it.

Re: Anyone after a shark?

It's a Marmite thing, you either get them or you don't. Performance wise, early one's are a bit soft but the shape was absolutely groundbreaking. Later one's, like my 928 S4 SE are kick arse. In 1988, Motor magazine desribed them as the nearest thing to a Shelby Mustang that an awful lot of money co...

Re: T25 Camper

Sweet. Had a diesel T25 a while back which after a petrol Transit seemed to run on fumes. Juice of the devil nowdays.

But not long until it's 'Dad, can I borrow the Boxster tonight?' They grow up so fast!

But on the plus side, at least she didn't want a pink stretch Hummer so you've clearly had a positive influence.

No problem posting the pics Gary71, thank you. Computer upgrade next week so I should be able to do better posting images myself then. Yes, well spotted the aerial got shifted. Radios and aerials were options then and interestingly, the car came with a manual aerial but no actual radio. Lots were de...

Sorry for the delay. Gave my word to Classic Cars they could show photos first but out today so the embargo's off. Then epic fail on me photo posting. Old bloke, who likes old cars with an old computer. What could go wrong? But you get by with a little help from your friends and a good mate who actu...

Hello everyone, Back in 1981 my first car was a 1972 VW Beetle and in one thing or another, I’ve been a rear engined air cooled guy ever since. Bought my first Porsche in California in 1990, a 1962 356B S coupe, a solid original car which I still own. I bought a 1964 356C that year too, with delusio...

Re: 2.4 on MFI: sudden reduction in power

Agreed, given that it ran fine and then sudddenly didn't, an igntion issue is the likely culprit. When you pulled the plugs to do the compression test, what was the burn like? If they're sooty, then your injectors are fine but you've got a weak spark and my guess would be your CDI has failed and it'...
