Hi James, Thank you for replying. I'll take a look again tomorrow but I don't think any connectors have come loose. It was all put together well during the restoration. that almost sounds like its over fuelling as if the thermostat hose has come loose and its gone to full rich ... but if that was the case it wouldn't recover itself and then be ok . Did you notice whether it was puffing black smoke ? In the unlikely event it is that, was there any different noises e...

Why not stick with barrels that don’t need the cases and heads machining ? A high compression 2.2/2.3 with let flywheel etc is a wonderful engine
