you can like your car to have the history, but it's not a right.
Asking on a forum, fine
Asking government agencies to give out personal details of previous owners , not.
And I doubt the DMV will

Be that as it may, there's such a thing as right to privacy.

Re: Possible to obtain ownership history from the DMV?
To be honest, a lot of people sell a car, and move on. They aren't really interested to be contacted by future owners of a car they sold. Asking on a forum , sure, but actively trying to get a list of previous owners and their details is just a step to far in my opinion. And I don't see how the DMV,...

Re: Maybe the time has come for mine too...but not sure
Car looks stunning but obviously all is down to the price and realistically you never get out of it what you have put in. Unless you had it a very long time and saw some price hikes come.. Though i think prices are over the hump a bit, that might not be so true for really good cars. I'm sure it will...

Re: Seinfeld 356
hmm Seinfield and not authentic Porsches, who'de a thunk that. Anybody remember the old story about how Porsche Classic restored Seinfeld's very early very rusted 901 chassis from the ̶g̶r̶o̶u̶n̶d̶ vin number up? There were threads on Pelicanparts and other forums about how somebody had seen a compl...

Re: 356 Pininfarina??
Typically PF made complete bodies, not making small modifications on existing ones. And To be honest , It's not a great result if you ask me. Especially those quarter panels and scoops look half assed ot me.. Look at 1964 cars by Pininfarina, and you get some of the most beautiful car bodies ever ma...

Re: 356 Pininfarina??
Clearly it's not original at all, that's not the main question at this point.
Headlights, exhaust, quarter panels, none of it is original.
The real question is whether or not this "356 Pininfarina" has any merit at all
or if this it a scam to sell it for more money then it's worth.

Re: 356 Pininfarina??
Already sent out word to them, the car did not have Porsche Museum stickers when it was driving around in 2015 by the PO in Vienna It has come up on auction in Germany before, now in Belgium and between 2015 and the auctions, it suddenly gained all them stickers and a leather hood straps. I would th...

Re: 356 Pininfarina??
I don't know enough about 356 model years myself, I just find it weird that there is nothing anywhere about Porsche + 356 + Pininfarina, other then links to this particular car being for sale. The auction shows it as having these papers : https://images.bva-auctions.com/static/auctions/36031/lots/21...

356 Pininfarina??
Has anyone ever heard of a Porsche 356 Pininfarina? Car comes up on auction, looks like a poor copy 356 Abarth. Some Pininfarina badges stuck on it. The quarter windows seem filled up and some air scoops added. leather hood straps on it. 4 exhaust pipes, just looks wrong. Some stickers indicating so...

Re: 97 Ron Shell fuels and old fuel pipes?
technically the ethanol is better for high compression.
it's just destructive for your fuel delivery system.

Re: 97 Ron Shell fuels and old fuel pipes?
That's messed up , in Belgium and most of the rest of the EU, the Biocrap is only found in 95 and 98 is free of that rubbish.
And either way you have a choice to pay more.
Can you get AVgas?? Avgas does not have Bioethanol since aircraft cannot have moisture.
or 100 or 102 ron race fuel?

Re: 97 Ron Shell fuels and old fuel pipes?
Pretty sure it's EU regs that it must be labeled. But you could ask Shell UK's customer service for a comprehensive answer as to which one of their fuels has BIO Ethanol in it and which doesn't. You could at the same time confirm with them if the labeling on the pump should show E0 E5 E10 or not. (I...
