Re: Door Mirror position - right hand side
I believe that when the optional passenger door mirror is fitted, it was the same mirror, but fitted further back as you suggest. I am sure one of our more knowledgable brethren will come back with further details/measurements. I guess your issue is that re-postioning will mean filling in holes (is ...

Re: 718 replica based on a 356
I owned that more than 20 years ago. GP kit built by Autofarm for a client with more money than sense. Bought it for much less than build cost. Fun but scary to drive with short wheelbase and no weight up front. Originally had open tuned pipe which made an incredible noise, but after a few years cou...

Re: Side stripe positioning
Thanks chaps for all replies. Mike's photo particularly interesting to see an original road car (as mine is) as the lettering looks to be pretty centred between front and rear doors edges, whereas I've seen quite a few where the first/last letter is very close to front edge. Ian

Side stripe positioning
Morning All. Anybody got a definitive dimensions for positioning side stripes? Looked at many photos and there are a few variations. Generally the bottom stripe is about 15mm above bottom of door. The first (or last on RHS) is quite close to front edge of door, and in fact some are so close that the...

Re: Wiper Woes!
Hi Roger, Don't know if the 71 is the same as my 70, but it is fitted with a bizarre intermittent operation. For years, the first position on the switch did nothing, then I learnt about the intermittent and sourced replacement relays and bingo. See http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=9&...

Re: 911S - electric windows or not!
My 70MY UK RHD S came with electric windows (on CoA). I believe it was the first year they were offered as an option (prepared to be shot down ), so I agree, if not shown on CoA, good chance weren't fitted from new.
Good luck with resto.

LWB Front Wing Repair
Morning All. Well, a bit of minor rear accident damage repair has suffered 'mission creep' On stripping down rear of front wing it is very scabby, so started looking for a repair section and the only one I can find is this https://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod135684/Front-Wing-Rear-Section-Repa...

Re: Aluminium engine lid
Thanks chaps. I've been trawling interweb. Anything s/h seems v expensive, but I guess you pay for originality. Stretch, spoke to Stuttgart Classica yesterday, and that might be the one I go for. They say they are sourced in Germany. Anybody dealt with them before? The KK ones are more expensive and...

Aluminium engine lid
The old banger is in for a bit of paint at the moment, and I have always wanted to fit an aluminium lid (the original was lost way back in time). Anybody know of a good second hand one or can recommend a new repro. Some of the new ones I have seen don't have holes for licence plate lights, but I don...
