Re: Splitting the engine

About to split my 1969 Porsche 912 engine bottom end.
Need a course and some instruction. This would be fantastic... but a long time ago.

912 Fan Pulley

Hello
Cannot get back pulley which goes onto the dynamo spindle square on. Wobbles about with shims needed to bring pulley back away from dynamo case. Am I missing something?
Thank you

Re: Fan Belt Rubbing Degrading

Thank you all. Didn’t know two types of belts existed!?
Incorrect bolts left side threaded all the way through casing!
Correct bolts on right hand side. Ironically correct bolts stick out further.

Fan Belt Rubbing Degrading

Hello! Fan belt rubbing against rear engine mount nut (top red circle) which is degrading the fan belt! Found the two nuts not attached to engine mount 2 months ago so this is a new scenario for the engine position ie nuts more elevated to engage mount! With shims I cannot bring the belt far enough ...

Re: 912 LWB 1969 Replacing Exhaust & Heat Exchangers

Thank you for all your help. Especially Timo! Taking the exhaust out was straightforward. Put the rear wheels up on ramps. Started at heat exchanger end. Took off the cables then undid the nuts. All steel nuts not copper. Only had one stud come out with frozen nut. Got it off by screwing up another ...

912 Engine Pan Rear fixing?

Hello!
Just taken out my exhaust. Thank you for all the tips.
Before I put the new one in I want to secure the engine pan to the rear of the car as there's always been a gap.
See Pic! Does it just rest on the rubber seal shown by red line in photo?!
Thanks for your help.
