These are some of the pics from the seller's ad, and the extras I asked for: http://914staffs.co.uk/914/db_IMG_20170312_1454101.jpg http://914staffs.co.uk/914/db_IMG_20170308_1630221.jpg http://914staffs.co.uk/914/db_IMG_20170308_1636521.jpg http://914staffs.co.uk/914/db_IMG_20170909_071714_520_-2-1...

1975 914 1.8 Restoration
Having wanted a 914 of 20-ish years, I finally bought one almost a year ago now. Having lurked on here for a long time, and asked quite a few of you helpful folks questions since starting my project, I have finally got around to hosting my photos in some web space I already have, so I can start a bu...

Re: Seat Back Wall Pad fixings
Can anyone tell me how far the 'spacer things if you drilled out the thread in an M6 rivnut they'd be almost identical to the original thing' stick out from the bulkhead? I've just have my shell back from being stripped (via pyrolysis, not dipping in paint stripper), and 2 of the 'spacer things' wer...

Re: registering my car
Thanks for the NOVA info - I have a lead now as to what I'm looking for - a letter or e-mail with a NOVA ID number. I have paperwork relating to the shipping company and the car's entry to the UK, so hopefully they'll be able to help. It was actually Jan 2017 when the guy I bought it from imported i...

Re: registering my car
Sorry to hijack your thread, but I have a question about a very similar topic. Could anyone who has imported a project car from the US give me any pointers as to what you should get as a result of the NOVA process? Mine was imported in 2016 by the guy I bought it from. It came with lots of US paperw...

Re: Project Blue Book
Thanks for the encouragement folks. I'm back to plan A, making a rotisserie now, as I realised I could re-purpose some of the parts I've already made as a modular body shell forklift stillage, so massively reduce the work involved, and it should only cost me about another £150 in steel and parts. I'...

Re: Project Blue Book
I've been following all three of those threads thanks. They' re very inspiring and useful to me, with my 914 being the first I have ever had or worked on. Especially going from no experience apart from a 1 day welding course to restoration perfection win less than one project car (defianty, I think ...

Re: Project Blue Book
Awesome work - inspiration for what I have to come. Those recesses so the lower front anti roll bar bolt is accessible must have been really tricky to access. I hope you don't mind a question about your rotisserie / rotator? I'm looking to buy one at the moment, and was going to go for one of the on...

Re: Anyone had their 914 body shell stripped?
I had planned to do a build thread on here when I started the project, but not having used web forums for many years, I didn't realise they don't seem to host photos these days, but rely on 3rd party hosting. I'm not a fan of any kind of cloud storage, so have never hosted pics or anything else onli...

Re: Anyone had their 914 body shell stripped?
Decision made! My 914 shell and hinging panels were collected by Prostrip (Nottingham) on Friday for stripping via pyrolysis and de-rusting via their phosphoric acid based system. It'll be interesting / scary when it comes back in a few weeks to see how much rust was lurking which I hadn't found, hi...

Re: Fuel pump
Bosch have massively rationalised the range of these types of pumps over the years, mostly commonising the electrical and fuel fitting types. There used to be hundreds of different part numbers available, now relatively few. Most '80's to mid '90's Bosch electronically injected non turbo cars use th...

Re: Bushes
I have just taken all the front suspension apart on the 914 I'm restoring, ready for blasting and refinishing. I'll be replacing all the bushes and ball joints. Initially I thought the original rubber wishbone bushes didn't look badly worn when I got everything apart, but on taking the torsion bars ...
