Re: Repaint, 2nd time round, 73T

It's very difficult to avoid distortion as it always happens when welding, hammer & dollying the weld is how you remove it, however in tight places where you can't do this, then it's a problem, the small amount I got ain't a big deal & will get a skim of filler over some epoxy primer. I'd be...

Re: Repaint, 2nd time round, 73T

Doing good work here Graham.
I've just done a similar repair on my door, I had to be careful to keep the heat down, so as not warp it, I wasn't completley successful btw

Re: Another Targa sarga

Thanks everyone for your comments  Another difficult panel to let in without making it looking obvious, lots of flanges that have to be spot on & butt joints with zero gaps, there was a big hole roughly cut for aftermarket aircon.. https://i.postimg.cc/kX8dbwzK/footwell_hole.jpg https://...

Re: Another Targa sarga

More work on the rear seat area, first cut a big hole https://i.postimg.cc/FzFY14kG/2018-07-19_18.38.10.jpg Then fill it, there was a lot of reverse stretching in this part, btw the metal I use is called Zintec, it has a zinc coating, hence it's colour, this is just tacked in place at the mo https:/...

Re: Another Targa sarga

As you can see from the above pictures, back seat this needed replacing. I might add, I know a lot of these parts are available to buy at reasonable money, however the aim of this restoration is too improve my fabrication skills, not too spend my children's inheritance :drunken: Cut out a rough shap...

Re: Another Targa sarga

This is one of the first parts I tackled https://i.postimg.cc/D00sYrBn/2018-05-25_18.17.44.jpg Started with a flat piece https://i.postimg.cc/KzZttSTK/2018-05-25_19.03.28.jpg After a lot of stretching, shrinking & shaping I got both halves tacked together https://i.postimg.cc/6qPRs8mR/2018-05-26...

Fantastic restoration, love the handmade panels, this separates the true restorers from crash repair guys who just buy everything.
Well done mate
