Re: Standard 2.7 ECU or upgrade advise needed
Thanks Jonny,
That's good news actually, I'm glad there aren't ecu's on my model, I like things simple.
I'll be in touch when I get closer the engine stage of my restoration.

Re: Standard 2.7 ECU or upgrade advise needed
Thanks for clarifying that chaps, you'll have to forgive my ignorance, my classic car knowledge is mainly on british cars that have needles & butterflies, not these squirty things. So apart from the CDI box of magic, what other electrickery is used on these models, what led me astray was searchi...

Standard 2.7 ECU or upgrade advise needed
Hi Folks, I'm a newbie to flat sixes, so I'm looking for some advise on ECU's, I bought a restoration project, but the ECU's are missing, it's a 1975 2.7, so should I find the standard ECU's or look into using something more modern as an upgrade, the engine is standard, so hope to keep the distribut...

He certainly is, have you posted any pictures of your restoration on here?

Re: Another Targa sarga
There are few places that the tinworm didn't get a foothold on, surprisingly all sill areas are good, as are the torque tubes, but yeah, it was scary project, I'm hoping to get into primer for christmas

Re: My '72 911T
Those annoying little rust holes in the middle of panels are a right pain, as they can end up warping a bigger area that was ok.

Re: Another Targa sarga
To learn proper coachbuilding I like to play a bit with aluminium, so when I've got some free time, I do a project just for the challenge & learn along the way, so no pressure. This front wing might not go on the car as I want to keep it as original as possible, it was fun at times, but not comp...

Re: Another Targa sarga
Welding always causes shrinking, so only address the weld by stretching, the peripheral warping will disappear if you do this right.jjeffries wrote:Martin, where you wrote "addressed distortion due to welding", can you share some insight, please? Did you use a shrinking disk on a grinder? Thanks, John
