Re: Kardex

Good to here another 69 S has surfaced and will be put back to original. Ian the post writer above originally owned my car and laid it up in 1979 then sold it to me 2012 and I am now near completion of the resto. Labour of love and money but should be worth it in the end. Interested as to how or who...

Re: 70 S, RHD, Signal Orange, UK->Australia->UK

I guess you would have to call them and ask.

Re: 70 S, RHD, Signal Orange, UK->Australia->UK

The painter is so happy with the flexibility of it for so many purposes he uses it for all restorations now..
Longevity, well hard to say as my car was the first they tried it on.

Porsche part: Hose part no 9991800305A

Porsche technical have informed my Local Porsche GB outlet (Aberdeen) That 7mm fuel hose part no 9991800305A will no longer be supplied but instead the same part number will be substituted with 6mm hose as they say it still fits...! What about the capacity reduction and originality? Here is the e-ma...

Re: 70 S, RHD, Signal Orange, UK->Australia->UK

I took this pic from member TP81's restoration thread as it shows the gap up under the rear wing to the C pillar and rear window curve.
Have you asked your body shop what goes up in that area yet or how they intend filling it..?

Re: 70 S, RHD, Signal Orange, UK->Australia->UK

Regarding the Stone chip my paint shop used "Raptor" which is a truck bed protector but has the advantage of being sprayed with different textures from really rough to completely smooth. I think your car should be coloured under the bonnet and the cars underside and Raptor can be coloured/...

Re: 70 S, RHD, Signal Orange, UK->Australia->UK

I too have heard of this matting type material stuffed up in that area probably similar to the coconut material under the grill between the seats in the centre of the tunnel...! Nothing in mine when they pulled the wings off, mind you there was little in the way of underseal on mine either, probably...

Re: 70 S, RHD, Signal Orange, UK->Australia->UK

Yes original colour
Matching numbers and 60K miles from new.
Off the road since 1978 with No 6 big end blown..too expensive to fix back then so virtually scrap.
Sold new in Scotland and possibly the only "S" sold through Glen Henderson of Ayr that year.

Finally

3/4 the way to finishing my 1969 911S RHD.... and I join now. Plus I have a 944 which needs the gearbox removing (hopefully next week) to get at the leaking fuel tank. If only Porsche had designed the boot floor to come out life would be a lot easier. Anyway nice to be part of something which will h...
