Re: Burnt Pig - 356 Pre a Build Thread

Great to see it all 'come to life'. Must be a fantastic feeling. Next stop is to start the engine i guess??? Thanks for the continued updates on your progress, it helps to see and understand the issues you have to overcome and also works as additional motivation - not that i am lacking much right no...

Rob, This is my dashboard at a point when the 3 dials were still in the template, not the finished thing! https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YdcaHnqk4I4/XY961F23c1I/AAAAAAAAD3k/wVzc3oKLPNk3UJjQWHxpSHlgm8jPXpy_gCLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/20190623_140121.jpg https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PLoyPA_LGvc/XY961OAdYAI/AAAAAAAAD3...

Re: Three Five Six - Ideas in Motion

Oh, good question. I believe they are IVA friendly but i will double-check when the car is back with me. However, thinking about the main issues with external mirror... They are adjustable, the driver can reach out the window and make the adjustment. The size of the mirror glass is big enough and th...

Re: Three Five Six - Ideas in Motion

LOL...

Well, this week my page 3 beauty has progressed yet further and by this time next week i should be able to say that she starts on the turn of a key, all the electrics work and she is on her way back to me.

But i am not that foolish, so i will just hope that we are somewhere close to that.

Re: Burnt Pig - 356 Pre a Build Thread

Great to see your progress Rob, its looking great! I am, i think, a couple of months behind you but it would be great if we can get both cars on the road next spring! I too bought a carbon fibre panel for my centre dash but have mounted 3 gauges in it. I like the idea of hiding some tech there also,...

Re: Three Five Six - Ideas in Motion

Thanks for that, sounds like a great idea. Sorry, i didnt mean i was shocked by the power-coated roll cage, more that it seems i have powder-coated the entire car recently!!!! Everything that was once on the car has been taken off and sent away to be powder-coated. Not only that, my wifes uncle (is ...

Re: Three Five Six - Ideas in Motion

The engine is now in the car. Initially the tailpipe didn't look right, it was sloping down and across and it was visible from the back of the car. This has now been resolved. The external oil cooler is bolted in place but not yet plumbed in. I need to get some 90 degree fixings to complete this par...

Re: Three Five Six - Ideas in Motion

Quick update... The engine is now back with me, and looking fantastic! I cannot wait to get it in the car. I have just ordered an external oil cooler (with fan) from Limebug and a thermo-switch. I recently had the pleasure of driving a replica 356 for the weekend and it was a lot of fun - the thing ...

Re: Three Five Six - Ideas in Motion

OK, engine update. I found out today that my engine is all ready for final build, and i will be able to collect it at the end of next week. Everything has been balanced, the tin wear is powder coated and there has been several mock-ups which have led to adjustments and modifications prior to the fin...

Re: IVA thread

That is very useful. Do you know what the rule is around front lights. You reference daytime running lights, side lights, Headlights and Main beam. Are these all required? if so, what is the difference between daytime lights and side lights? I get that 'Headlights' can cover both dipped and main bea...

Re: My Speedster Clinic coupe

Beautiful car, i think i have seen this one in the 'flesh' maybe, at Stanford hall show in 2017?

How are you finding it?
Anything you would do differently next time?

There must be something we can learn from your experience...
