Re: 964 C2 - Rolling Resto

You have no idea how many times this thread has me checking ebay for a bargain 964.

Re: 964 C2 - Rolling Resto

A comprehensive answer, thanks! I like the look - and it's the bumper and wing mirrors that take the majority of punishment from stones, flying insects etc, hence my thinking of wrapping them. Is there a specific Porsche bright orange- maybe Signal Orange? Here's what I'd like to jazz up a little: h...

Re: 964 C2 - Rolling Resto

Loving the updates - could I ask where you got the bumpers and wing mirrors of the Boxster wrapped? Presuming that it's a wrap of course. Also, what colour is the wrap?

Re: 964 C2 - Rolling Resto

Great to see this progress!

What a nightmare for the poor previous owner, being (what looks like) stitched up by the garage that they trusted to do the engine build.

Re: 964 C2 - Rolling Resto

Fascinated to see how you get on with this one - I (like many others, I suspect) quite seriously considered making an offer for it. The other cat-C 964 that cropped up recently has a bent chassis, so this one seems to be a much better starting point. Interesting. Do you mean the dark metallic blue ...

Re: Recaro Profischale, 1998, and a kettle

I'm 6'2", 13 stone, and the most recent pair of trousers I purchased had a 32" waist. Doing some seat testing would be a good idea, I'll see what I can arrange. The yellow seats are still in production - you can buy them from FVD today. The white ones would need to be purchased as reproduc...

Re: Recaro Profischale, 1998, and a kettle

= I've been staring at seats all day and I'm now going round in circles. It's possible that the 9 rib seats are "RS" and the 5 rib seats are "Speedster". Neither of them are a match for the currently available SPG: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads16/DSCN33281259169991.jpg B...

Re: Recaro Profischale, 1998, and a kettle

But had the design changed to this one by the time of the final 993/first 996?

Re: Recaro Profischale, 1998, and a kettle

This is the one I was looking at: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/797/40291749215_b46d9ced4e_b.jpg And the link to it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/recaro-profi-g-bucket-seat/152965354593?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649 It's in what I'd characterise as "poor" con...

Re: Recaro Profischale, 1998, and a kettle

I have ordered one of those, I need to adjust my eyeline by approx 30mm though so that on its own, whilst helpful, won’t achieve what I am after. The trimmer is modifying the existing seat cushion, but Porsche only reduced that by 10mm in the “XSU- tall driver” option. Maybe the trimmer can get 20mm...

Re: Recaro Profischale, 1998, and a kettle

That’s certainly the easier answer- and I could get the ABE version which allows full use of a three point belt.

However, I quite like the ribbed shell of the Profi- however I won’t use it if it couldn’t have been ordered at the time.

Recaro Profischale, 1998, and a kettle

Morning everyone, I have a question- it’s not really technical so please forgive me if it is in the wrong place. I have a very early 996- from mid 1998. I am somewhat taller than average and I have fitted the Porsche/Momo wheel in order to get the reach I am comfortable with. This has had the knock ...

Bit of an odd one, but: your project inspired the paint for my latest bike:
