Re: My '72 911T

Just read your thread from start to finish (not on the same day!), wow what a journey, your car’s fantastic, love everything about it, must feel so good to be out driving it after all of that hard work, very inspirational, reminds me I need to get a move on and get mine resurrected from its long ter...

Re: Meet Ralph - 1970 ST project

Hi Rich, I hadn’t got gas sorted yet but after looking at Albee gas I see there is an agent for them just a couple of miles away so I’ll give them a visit. My first welder arrived just in its cardboard box with no packaging which is just crazy so it was no surprise that it was badly damaged, the sec...

Re: Wot, not another '79 Targa resto thread

Most garage floors were no made to carry these loads I think? If you bolt these to the floor of the garage and it is a bit 'thin' not sure how I would feel under there. The foot print of the bases though are good and large, so am I worried about nothing. anything to work smarter and not harder is a...

Re: Meet Ralph - 1970 ST project

Nice work, I’ll be interested in seeing how well you find the Paton on thin steel. My PSI 200 arrived this afternoon from WSD, unfortunately it looks like the courier had dropped it from a great height, Tom is sending out a replacement tomorrow, just need to get the electrics in my new workshop so I...

Re: My '72 911T

I’ve just spent the last 2 evenings reading your entire build thread in its entirety which has been a very welcome distraction to my wife’s weeks worth of strictly come bleeding dancing on catch up TV I love the colour, your painstaking work has paid off and what a result! Look forward to seeing the...

Re: Preparing for rust removal

That's a bit of so project you've got there! Look forward to reading all about it, I presume you're good at welding! I've never tackled a project like this before but have read few threads where people have. I've seen people welding in a few diagonal support beams into the interior to keep the shell...

Re: My engine won't come out

Well done!

Are you just renewing the seals which are accessible or are you planning on a top end rebuild?

Re: My engine won't come out

My 914 had been butchered by someone not knowing they were originally torx and using the wrong tool. Torx, what Torx? Not on any Porsche I know of. The 914 CV joint bolts generally use the tri-square (12-point) bolts. The 12 point female bolt heads are known as 'spline' drive, I believe. used exten...
