Original 914 Fuel Injection system

I've parts of an original 914 fuel injection system including ECU, wiring , some injectors and misc valves. I'm not sure what spec engine its off as it was just boxed with other loose stuff. I'm wondering if this is likely to be of any use to anyone or is it just junk?

Re: Factory steel roll bar

Interesting ( or maybe not, depending on your viewpoint ) fact is that ROPS is a Volvo coined acronym ( along with SIPS, WHIPS etc. ) which they refused to let us use at Aston Martin, even when we were under the same owners i.e Ford. It actually referred to the deployable rollbar on C70 ( same part ...

Re: Basketweave Vinyl

You could try this place in Germany, http://www.doepper-profile.de/. He has a very extensive stock of obsolete fabrics for all German Marques , also rubber trims. I purchased correct vinyl for 914 door trim from him

Re: 912 1966 PNK2D

The original door steelwork got scrapped in the process, as it was too dinged ( this was mid 70s so they were worth very lttle and parts from broken cars seemed easy to come by), I've only got the removed mechanisms for some reason still. Good idea though.

Re: 912 1966 PNK2D

I think it would be early 80's last I saw Fred and Paul. Interestingly the last vestiges I have of the 912 in question are driver side door inards which became spare when I went through a hedge coming home to South Brum from Fred / Pauls one night in it, and had to buy a full driver side door to rep...

Re: Bridgestone SO2 replacement?

Strange, I loved my SO2's and now find the Michelins that I replaced them with ( as there was very little choice ) seem too stiff and harsh but no better grip.

Re: 912 1966 PNK2D

Actually I've a feeling we sold it to the Turner family from Badsey, Evesham who were known in the local Porsche and hillclimb scene in the 70's. Fred ran a 356 and I think Paul went on to run a single seater. Would any of you hill-climb guys have any contacts?

Re: 912 1966 PNK2D

No idea of VIN, I probably got rid of all the paperwork years ago. Not important at all, I'll see if I can remember who we sold it to.

912 1966 PNK2D

Just mild interest as I used to own it, but I wonder if anyone knows the whereabouts of 1966 Porsche 912 reg PNK 2D. I can see it's not showing any MOT records on the gov site, although it does show up, albeit with a non original colour. Maybe its been scrapped long before there was interest in them...

Re: Insurance.... again

Interesting because when I was looking at renewal in December and I think I was advised to check them, I tried their on-line tool and I've just done it again. It comes out almost 3 x what I'm paying now, so I obviously didn't proceed any further!

Re: Dangerous work - involve the police?

Just a thought but isn't backdating a vehicle, however well done, potentially to be frowned upon by courts / police / trading standards? I would assume that it would be much more difficult to do in Germany with TuV and I wonder what Porsche's view is on it officially.

Re: Steel spare wheel - Has anyone actually used one?

Porsche supplier a plastic bag to put the spare in and presumably put on the back seats folded down, at least with my 3.2 Carrera, I've still got it! BTW the steel nuts are a VW part, I bought them years ago from a dealer when hill climbing.

Re: When something falls off

I built a beach buggy before I had a licence and my dad took it out for the first time with myself in the passenger seat and a large mechanic in the back. As we drove ( somewhere in the Black country , I can't remember exactly where ) we saw a wheel come past us and realised it was one of ours from ...
