Re: Engine issue

Thanks, gents. Seems like there are a few things to check. I will reply back if I find anything or can replicate the issue with more details.

Thank you

Re: Engine issue

Hi James, Thank you for replying. I'll take a look again tomorrow but I don't think any connectors have come loose. It was all put together well during the restoration. I do occasionally get a popping sound from the exhaust once the car has warmed up. Giulio at Gary Cook's said this was the case whe...

Re: Engine issue

Thanks for replying. It was not misfiring, just losing power. Accelerator pedal was down quite a way in second gear and I would have expected quite high revs (5k or so) but it just wouldn’t pick up and started jerking. It is a standard 2.4E engine with MFI and a Classic retrofit CDI+ and original bl...

Re: Engine issue

Thanks for replying. I had filled the tank with Esso Super and added the Porsche Classic Fuel Additive last October. I know Esso were going to start adding Ethanol to their Super around year end 2023 but not sure if the tank I filled had any Ethanol in it. Also seems odd that I managed to drive 140 ...

Engine issue

Hello, First drive of the year for me today (in the rain). It was a 140 mile round trip. Car started and drove well all the way out and 95% of the way back home. A couple of miles away from home the car felt like it was losing power and started to judder a bit. I pulled over and alternator light was...

Re: A few parts needed

Hi Dave,
If the original door pull you need is the same as that on a 73, speak to Gary Cook. I bought a batch of these, kept a couple and sold the rest to him to use on his restorations.
Kind regards

Re: Front bonnet & engine lid struts ...

Hi Andy,
I used Meyle 440 160 3840 when I had my car stored and they have been fine since then. Not too strong to push up the bonnet near the hinge and I have not had any issues with the lid dropping either. They are £15.22 on eBay
Kind regards

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today, 20 years ago?

Hi Brendan,
I have seen it before, but that picture on the beach is lovely. Great to hear you will be getting to spend more time with your car. I look forward to doing the same when I get older.
Kind regards

Hi,
Carpoint sell them. Search on their site for rear light reflector.

Re: Porsche 912 Wiring Loom

Hi Chris, You could repair what you have or just make a new central loom. I would recommend the latter. You will need to remove the old one, measure the size of each strand with a micrometer/callipers and count the number of strands. This will give you the cross sectional area of each wire. Order re...

Re: Tool kit prices

Was the Bilstein jack added at the factory or dealer? It seems like these varied around dates too.
