Location of Fog Lights Relay and associated wiring
Hi everyone I am currently rewiring my 1967 912 main loom as the original wiring has been baked and I have concerns that I can see that the insulation has melted and disappeared in a few places. Many of the ends of the connectors have also badly corroded and broken. After this I will move onto repla...

Re: STARTER MOTOR - HIGH TORQUE TYPE
Morning all
I fitted my new starter in Feb 22 and don't appear to have any issues with a burning wire smell. (Time will tell?). I am happy with the performance of the motor and is far better than the standard one that was playing up before.
Will post if i have any issues.

Hi Knoxy
The primer bulb looks like a worthwhile addition, especially if the car has been standing for a while. Thanks for the posted photos. (Your car engine bay looks great!).

Re: STARTER MOTOR - HIGH TORQUE TYPE
Hi
Have purchased the Powerlite starter motor and fitted it, yes it was pricey, but it has made a massive improvement to starting the car.
Many thanks Ollie for the suggestion.
Next job, replace the rusty and leaking fuel tank!

Hi Ollie
Looks like a great starter motor, quite pricey, but expect it will do the job. I will investigate further.
Many thanks

Re: Starter Motor Replacement for 1996 -993
Hi All
Many thanks for the quick responses and will start to review my options. The car is stock but given the motors location and whats required to replace it I am looking for something a little better than stock.

Hi Everyone I am having problems with my existing starter motor. I guess it's one of the original and tired and struggles to turn over the motor at a reasonable speed to draw fuel (original refurbished fuel pump) to start the car. Engine 912 - 1720cc. I have checked all the usual problems, earth str...
