Re: Question re dealer liability
Not legal advice etc but I think he would still have a claim against the dealer if the car was described as matching numbers - irrespective of the dealer’s knowledge. The consumer rights act should apply.

Re: Fuel leak !!
An update - some good news - the pipes leading to the pump had split - the pump itself is fine. Hopefully all resolved!

Re: Fuel leak !!
Thank you all - that’s really helpful information. Richard - what you have said about the fuel pump is reassuring as I was expecting something more serious and so I hope it is just that. I will update. Were the fuel pumps very different in MY 70 cars to later ones?

Re: Fuel leak !!
Thanks both. The leak happened only when I started the car - and the volume that came out suggests that there it’s more than a small leak. At the risk of sounding really stupid there is a tube under the bonnet which isn’t connected to anything - could this be the cause ? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn...

Fuel leak !!
I’ve just started my 1970 2.2 S which has been standing still since lockdown - it started fine but there is a pool of fuel which has been leaking from some where under the front of the car. I can’t see any sign of damage to the fuel tank - does anyone have any idea of what it could be? Any thoughts ...

E10 fuel
Not sure if this is a question for the technical or general section - but what is the view on the suitability of E10 fuel for our engines? What are the options if E5 is no longer available or easily obtainable? (I expect this has been discussed but can’t find that discussion on the forum search) Vimal

Re: Specialist cars of malton
I was very lucky ! My car was as advertised, provenance confirmed and I’m very happy with it but I ended up having to spend a fair few k at JZM to rectify all the things that SCOM promised they would do and either didn’t do at all or did really badly. Better to have lost a few thousand than to have ...

Re: Bonnet release cable
The cable seems to have sheared off - a completely clean break. Thankfully the bonnet unlocks once the cable tension is released and so I have access to the boot.

Bonnet release cable
My release cable has just snapped (1970 2.2) - the t bar handle just came away from the cable. Any tips on whether this is an easy fix?
