Why all the B hating...
... on Bringatrailer? I should perhaps ask them! This is a good example: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1961-porsche-356b-3/ The car wasn't billed as anything that it wasn't. Unclear where the reserve was but looked like a solid motor and I can't really understand the level of nitpicking and abus...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
That would put you... just by the bar at Spa! Yes, agree its a cracking long weekend of racing. Watching the last hour of the 6 hours into the dark at La Source is great. On a practical level, so much easier to get a drink, taxi, restaurant too than Classic Le Mans. I don't even think they charge yo...

Re: 6 Volt Regulator
Neil, Ashley - Cheers. Had a chat with the auto electrical engineer and he reckons its all working correctly. So I think I'll put the damaged batteries down to lack of use rather than over-charging. Neil, I'd be interested to hear what charge is going into your battery if you get a chance at some po...

Re: 6 Volt Regulator
Cheers for the tip Ashley. I think I actually have a VW generator / regulator set up we have the Haynes manual for Beetles and did the tests in there. I suppose my lack of understanding about the whole thing is - assuming the regulator is working fine - if you test the voltage at the regulator when ...

6 Volt Regulator
I had another ignition system query - thoughts really welcomed as ever. I am replacing my existing 6 volt battery but decided to test the voltage of the current battery out of interest after the car stood for a week - it was reading 4.5 volt. I checked the cells and they have boiled dry. Basically k...

Thanks all. I was in B&Q and saw some Evo-Stik Contact adhesive and grabbed that. Will give it a go first.

Re: advice. 1973 911 Radio
I can recommend Classic Chrome. They come out to you and know what is period correct. They offer a blue tooth option and also a cable jack (which I had velcroed under the dash). I actually prefer the cable jack.
They also fixed a bit of rough aerial cable.

Adhesive for Rubber Door Seal
More DDK wisdom sought... The driver door rubber seal on my 356 has come off. I was wondering if there was a preferred glue to use. I did a little search and previous suggestion was Wurth Rubber Glue. I usually just epoxy resin stuff. Any thoughts on whether I need a specialist product or can just g...

Re: Ethanol Levels in Fuel
The demos on how to take the ethanol out got me thinking. And the reason I thought it might be easier to email the petrol firms and just ask. So the one's I saw the guy (usually somewhere in the Mid West of US) added water in proportion to the ethanol content to a drum of fuel (which had a tap at th...

Re: 6 Volt Batteries of Choice
Thank Roy - That's a useful article. Yes, I was just interested in how much a good 6 Volt battery dropped off on turning over the starter. More out of interest than anything. I'm going to have a crack at checking earths and connections on the bank holiday. I read in a number of places a fully charge...
