Re: Cold start difficulty
I have the same problem. I have come to the conclusion its a fuelling / fuel issue. It sounds like I have similar cold start issues as you. If I leave the car for more than 3 days it's a case of priming the carbs a couple of times or easystart. Starting the day after a run is fine. I think it's a co...

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
Without strong copyright law there will be less domestic Chinese innovation and they will continue to steal other peoples IP. Why would a Chinese engineer bother to invent something when another Chinese engineer can pinch it? We should sell them all of our lawyers! Perhaps the opposite. The more th...

Re: GRRC Fellowship
I decided to not pursue my membership when I was emailed and phoned and asked how much i was enjoying being on the waiting list for membership and then explained I had to pay to be on the list. Added to that there is all the b/s about being in "houses" like its some sort of pseudo Harry Po...

Re: Tracking Apps and Security Cameras.....any recommendatio
Mike - This is from an earlier thread re trackers. I spent a bit of time looking at trackers and I think you get what you pay for. There's quite a lot of info on MTrack's website so worth a read why the set-up offered by them is better than just a GPS. " I didn't want to wire into the ignition ...

Re: If you can’t say something nice....
OK, I have one for the "say something nice" thread. - 123ignition. Absolutely excellent. Quality feel to it, and good customer service (e.g. answering questions promptly and accurately and dispatching / delivery of product). Not a product for everyone I get, but seems to have helped no end.

St Albans Tyres & Exhausts are very good. They did my 1971 911T when a number of other places couldn't get the tyres off and were close to damaging the fuchs. Don't let the exterior of the workshop put you off. 277 High Street, London Colney St Albans Herts AL2 1EU http://www.stalbanstyres.co.uk/

Hmmm... that's a sad tale. Sorry to hear that. So proceed with caution then, keep the oil topped up and fresh and KBO.

Re: RPM
Thanks both. That's really helpful.
Andy, a similar scenario got me thinking. My mates tend to drive faster than me and I'm often playing catch up, usually at the Tolls on the autoroutes.
OT, that's a good amount of 356'ing for one day!

I wondered the sort of RPM other 356'ers run their cars at on a long motorway / dual carriageway run. I appreciate how much stress you're prepared to put on the engine depends on loads of factors - including condition of engine, appetite for rebuild spend. As far as I am aware the engine in my B has...

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
It was an awesome drive. 356B along with Series I E-Type and Elan 26R (alike)... Reims to Colmar via Vittel and through the Vosges National Park then up the Alsace Wine Route is really recommended. The Elan is surprisingly little trouble (except one of the wheels coming loose - appears the tyre fitt...

Re: The good old days of rallying
Cheers James. Sounds similar - I used to go to Clumber Park with my Dad. Cold, muddy, standing on a corner waiting for the cars to come flying past. Then suspect tasting burgers with fried onions from the van.
I remember enjoying it a load but being very cold.

Re: Rod Emory
I'd always assumed Emory cars were metal, hence the cost. These look like they are metal not GRP, but happy to be corrected if this isn't the general rule. http://deuscustoms.com/blog/shop-rod-emory/ I rather like them. Though agree the custom / hot rodding passion seems to be a bit of a US thing. P...

Re: Which Engine Oil?
I always find the oil, plugs, tyres threads interesting. You can at least have a read and take a view. In fact I followed one, think it was 356 Registry and someone was talking about Marvel Mystery Oil. Seems to be useful all sorts of engine ailments. Anyone used this? I'm not just going to throw it...
