Re: Meet Ralph - 1970 ST project
Managed a couple of hours in today. I'd been unsure how far to go to go with the chassis strengthening, then decided to just do all of it. Tunnel to torsion tube seemed like the trickiest to do but having the rear seat bases out seemed like a good opportunity to get it done. Cut out a slot with the ...

Re: Meet Ralph - 1970 ST project
Hi all, Thanks for the comments. Struggling to get much time on the car at the moment but hoping the that will change next week. I've decide that I'll basically do all the body strengthening modifications I can find. I know that once its painted I wont go back. I did some research and couldn't justi...

Re: Meet Ralph - 1970 ST project
Thanks for the comments, Slight change of plan as hadn't really appreciated that with the seat base panels removed I had a really good opportunity to clean and paint the torsion bar tube from the top. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51246374993_2fa4f94bd5_c.jpg 2021-06-14_11-10-06 by richard can...

Re: Meet Ralph - 1970 ST project
Amazing that looks like a remarkably familiar scene. I was thrown for a while as my RHS is different from the LHS due to oil line clearance. I do enjoy TIG and it's great for detailed work but I do think MIG is incredible for its speed and versatility.

Re: another 73T Targa restoration thread
Sills are looking pretty good. Trim work looks amazing, great idea work on it in parallel, it always leave it till last thinking its just a couple of days work......and it isn't. I still think its like when I restored minis in my teens, pop down the scrappers on Saturday morning and pick an interior...

Re: Meet Ralph - 1970 ST project
I'm starting think there may be an end to the rust repair stage and things are starting to feel more solid. Both inner sill repairs and hinge post now repaired and painted. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51139785007_5f84f6df82_c.jpg 2021-04-26_07-08-13 by richard cannings , on Flickr Dansk fill...

Re: Meet Ralph - 1970 ST project
Yes, I've decided that as I'm not trying to recreate a particular ST I can embrace the fact that no two were alike and just enjoy doing what I like that looks right to me. Started to look at a fuel fill catch solution. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/51121501999_dfb09bedb1_c.jpg 2021-04-17_09-41...
