Re: I think it might be time...

I had to get rid of the A2 sadly as it came a cropper to the ULEZ extension, picked up a couple of faults and a whacking great Keying down the side. I do miss the 55MPG plus though! Back on the 911 i've decided to just put it to the back of my mind and keep it stored for a while longer. Whats the po...

I think it might be time...

Other life shite has kind of got in the way and I haven't touched my 911 for two years now. The vast majority of my time has been spent fitting out the widebeam boat I foolishly bought and moved onto at the end of 2020. The boat is almost finished now but my GF (wife to be in September) is now itchi...

Re: London .. help on where to live

It all depends what sort of persons she is and what shes in to. I always advise people to live east and would never dream of living in Fulham/Clapton etc but i'm sure there are people who would have the exact opposite view. I live on a boat so change neighbourhoods every couple of weeks and therefor...

Re: Volvo electric car life emissions report

House you mean? I was wondering about running an off grid house on DC as I was wiring yet another LED driver today. Low voltage lights with batteries charged by (DC) solar or wind ought to be easy. Cooking and heating need muchos power though. Living on a boat I don't have much choice! I get about ...

Could I have second dibs on 29 - light surrounds and 32 - rear 1/4 interior panels incase they fall through.

Thanks

Re: Best protection options

I used Noxudol for the Cavities and Bilt Hamber Dynax UB on top of the Raptor. Only feedback I have is the Noxudol didn't spray as nice as I would have liked. I've been getting a lot of targeted ads for Lanoguard which seems to get good feedback. I might try it on the underside of the Boxster.

Re: Underseal colour - beige-ish

I ended up going for RAL 7044, light greyish beige. My little samples from the original coating weren't all that beige - https://live.staticflickr.com/1803/29414892308_6648a53c08_c.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/1826/42566579084_0cd77305bb_c.jpg Can't remember which of these is 7044- https://live...

Re: Underseal colour - beige-ish

I spent way longer than is healthy trying to find the right colour for exactly the same purpose as you. When I'm back from holiday I'll dig out what i ended up going with. I used some scrapings of the old coating to eye match it to colour swatches in the end. The only thing is I don't think raptor w...

Re: Under-bonnet colour question

Best pic I have access to of my 1970 at the moment - https://live.staticflickr.com/940/29876948938_1c7c13ba85_c.jpg I figure what you see is the Black(ish) colour of the original transport coating with the overspray of primer and top coat on top, there was possibly a mega light blow in of paint in t...

Re: OT: generators

my boat neighbour had one of the Screwfix jobbies and it was nice and quiet and did what he wanted it to do(run a battery charger). I'm sure for occasional use of low power stuff they are fine, as with any generators make sure you run it dry if you aren't using it for more than a month. Depending on...

Hondas EU's are the top dogs then cheaper option are Kipors which get good reviews. I have a Hyundai Hy3000sei, I find it fine now ive done a bit of fettling but a lot of people complain that they are a pig to start. Mine does take a few pumps of the bulb and cranks of the key first start in the mor...
